Resilience Assessment of Buildings with Considering Aftershocks
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Bakhshi, Ali (Supervisor) ; Kashani, Hamed (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
The development of the methods to evaluate the seismic resilience of communities, infrastructures, and structures has attracted many researches. To estimate the resilience with accuracy, developing a model that can simulate the events during the recovery time is very important. For the same, modelling the aftershocks with their accumulative effects on the damaged buildings during the recovery time has been the main focus of the current study. The proposed approach to simulate the aftershocks’ effect utilizes the Monte-Carlo sampling, in which each sample includes the two following steps. The first step is the simulation of the cumulative damage caused by the mainshock-aftershocks sequence...
Fabrication of Conductive Electrospun Fibers for Smart Drug Delivery
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Nemati, Ali (Supervisor) ; Simchi, Abdolreza (Supervisor)
Abstract
In tissue engineering and nerve cell treatments, biocompatible and conductive substrates are needed to stimulate nerve cells. In this project, we fabricated a composite of polyaniline and gelatin along with metal-organic frameworks and graphene quantum dots, which perform this repair process for us. For this purpose, we used polyaniline. Due to its conductivity, this polymer stimulates the nervous tissue and in this way, it can perform the repair work. By conducting UV-Vis and FTIR tests, it was observed that the synthesis of aniline polymer has been achieved successfully. SEM analysis showed that the polymer chains were well formed. The other part of the composite used is MOF (metal-organic...
