Abstract
Naturally fractured oil reservoirs represent over 20% of the world's oil reserves, while over 60% of the world’s remaining oil lies trapped in fractured reservoirs. However, relatively little success has been achieved in increasing oil production from these complex reservoirs. Water flooding process leaves much oil in the reservoir, especially in fractured reservoirs. Surfactant flooding is known to lower the interfacial tension and hence, reduces capillary forces responsible for trapping oil and increasing recovery. Abstract
To investigate the effects of flow rate, diameter and offset of secondary fuel injection on combustor noise level, pressure fluctuation and NOx emission, four types of injectors were examined in a swirl-stabilized combustor for overall equivalence ratio (Ø) of 0.7 ~ 0.9 and flow rate of secondary fuel (Qsec) from 0.6 to 4.2 L/min. As for the reference injector used in previous related studies, secondary fuel injection of 3.0 L/min is the best condition for the reduction of pressure fluctuation and combustion noise with tolerable NOx emission. Abstract
Gravity Drainage and Capillary Imbibition are among the most important mechanisms in oil production from carbonate fractured reservoirs. In order to investigate the feasibility and effects of these mechanisms in oil recovery from carbonate cores, some different experiments were carried out at Sharif University Laboratories. Carbonate cores were taken away from the well-known Asmari outcrop, Asmari Mountain in south east of M.I.S. city and used in these experiments. Abstract
Gas injection is a well-known enhanced recovery method which can improve recovery using two different displacement processes, miscible and immiscible. Typical non-hydrocarbon gases which have been utilized in these processes are carbon-dioxide and nitrogen. These gases are usually injected separately and have been rarely utilized together as a tertiary recovery process.
