Abstract
One of the passive control systems that are used widely in today’s buildings are metallic yielding dampers. Metallic yielding dampers by absorbing earthquake input energy, prevent inelastic defromations form in beams and columns. In this research, the behavior of an innovated metallic yielding damper, named pistonic damper is investigated. Behavioral Modeling and Homogenizing of Materials Containing Rough Crack

Abstract
The present paper proposes a micromechanical damage model for two and three dimensional Representative Volume Element (RVE) with randomly distributed cohesive rough slit-like and penny-shaped micro cracks (Barenblatt-Dugdale type). First, the influence of crack roughness on the crack opening under macro hydrostatic stress state is studied and then the energy release contribution to material damage process is estimated. Abstract
In this study, a new type of yielding metal dampers is proposed and evaluated numerically in finite element software. The damper consists of three main components, the core, the surrounding shell and the shear plates. These three components are interconnected in parallel and They are designed in such a way that when the system is under axial loading, the plates are much weaker than the shell and the core to remain in operation and elastic behavior until the end of the system and only the plates absorb the energy of the incident with their inertial shear behavior. Concrete is a heterogeneous material with a wide variety of usage in structural design. Concrete under tension exhibits strain softening, i.e., a negative slope in the stress-deformation diagrams. Different softening curves have been proposed in the literature to interpret this phenomenon. In this article, a particular off-center bracing system is introduced. In this system, the tensile diagonal strut is not straight. When the load is applied, the original geometry changes and thus causes the system to harden. Based on this behavior, a step-by-step analytical method is developed. Using this method, a Geometrically Nonlinear Analysis Program (GNAP) is designed to analyze the elastic force-displacement relation. This paper presents a stability analysis for fractal cracks. First, the Westergaard stress functions are proposed for semi-infinite and finite smooth cracks embedded in the stress fields associated with the corresponding self-affine fractal cracks. These new stress functions satisfy all the required boundary conditions and according to Wnuk and Yavari's (2003 Eng. Fract. Mech. 70 1659-74) embedded crack model they are used to derive the stress and displacement fields generated around a fractal crack. Abstract
This paper presents a novel hybrid approach for intrusion detection in computer networks. The proposed approach combines an evolutionary based fuzzy system with an artificial immune system to generate high quality fuzzy classification rules. The performance of final fuzzy classification system has been investigated using the KDD-Cup99 benchmark dataset.
