    Abstract
High order harmonic generation is investigated for N2 and CO molecules under ten-cycle sin-squared laser pulse at 800 nm wavelength and I = 2 × 1014 W cm−2 intensity. In order to study effects of the asymptotic behavior of the exchange-correlation (XC) potentials, the time-dependent Kohn-Sham equations are numerically solved in the non-linear non-perturbative regime with four different XC potentials. Time-dependent electron localization function is used to get imaging on the temporal dependence of the electron density. Time-profile analysis was also utilized for studying long and short electron trajectories. It is found that the ionization energy values both molecules calculated by using...

    Abstract
In the present work, an efficient method is theoretically investigated for extending high-order harmonics and ultrashort attosecond pulse generation in N2 and CO molecules by using the time-dependent density functional theory approach. Our results show that by utilizing chirped laser field in the presence of a low frequency field, not only is the harmonic cutoff extended remarkably but also the single short quantum trajectory is selected to contribute to the harmonic spectra. When a low frequency field is added to the two-color chirped laser field, the long quantum trajectories are suppressed and only the short quantum trajectories contribute to the higher harmonic emission mechanism. As a...

    Abstract
We present a method for high-order harmonics generation of N2 and CO molecules under two-color circularly polarized counter-rotating laser pulses at frequencies of and 2. Pulse envelope in this investigation is sin-squared and the intensity of each laser beam is with ten-optical cycle (o.c.). We show that an isolated pulse with a pulse duration shorter than 20 attosecond from the superposition of several harmonics can be generated. Both two-color linearly- and bicircularly-polarized laser pulses are considered. Our results have also been compared with the outcomes of the previous theoretical works as well as experiment observations. It is found that for CO molecule, the...

Cooperative Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mehrabi Koushki, Masoud (Author) ; Movaghar, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Minimizing energy consumption is the most important concern in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Cooperative multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and data aggregation are two promising techniques to conserve energy in network nodes by coordinating their transmissions through cooperative communications along with eliminating the inherent redundancy of raw data for transmissions. In this thesis, with the goal of reducing energy consumption, we present a dynamic clustering framework for combined used of cooperative MIMO and data aggregation in cluster-based WSNs. We derive a new and more general energy model for computing energy consumption of cooperative data aggregation in wireless sensor...

Gas Kick Detection and Modeling in Oil-based Mud

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Abbasi Koushki, Mohammad (Author) ; Jamshidi, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Rapid gas kick detection is an essential tool in safe well control operation. Gas kick can be defined as the uncontrolled release of gas from the formation into the wellbore due to insufficient hydrostatic pressure of the drilling mud. Delay in gas kick detection makes it challenging to control the well properly and may lead to blowout when gas reaches the surface, causing irreparable damage to life, property, and the environment. The usual method of identifying this phenomenon is through surface parameters such as increasing the return flow rate of drilling mud at the surface or increasing pit gain. The use of oil-based mud makes it more challenging to detect. Because, unlike water-based...

    Abstract
We have reported a new and efficient synthesis of a broad spectrum of heterotetracyclic benzoxazocines via unique tandem 1,3-dinucleophilic addition of different bifunctional nucleophiles to quinolinium and isoquinolinium salts. The reaction generally involves the initial addition of nucleophiles to quinolinium salts to form enamine intermediate which can be trapped by intramolecular O/S-alkylation of nucleophiles. In the third part, as continues, we have reported another method which consists of Anthocyanidins and Thioindoles by using water and acetic acid as the solvent. This protocol is a very mild and simple method for construction of eight-membered ring in fused heterocycles in a...

    Abstract
Hybrid Exoskeletons refer to simultaneous use of wearable robots and functional electrical stimulation technology. Hybrid exoskeletons have many advantages compared to the separate application of each of these technologies, such as reducing the robot’s energy consumption and the need for lighter and cheaper actuators for the robot, using humans muscle power, and reducing muscle fatigue. As a result, these robots have recently attracted a lot of interest in rehabilitation applications for patients suffering from mobility impairment.Control in hybrid exoskeletons is more complicated than control in traditional exoskeletons. Because in addition to robot and functional electrical stimulation...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Koushki, Safa (Author) ; Yaghmaei, Soheyla (Supervisor) ; Roosta Azad, Reza (Supervisor) ; Yeganeh Sarkandi, Shahin (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
Enzymes are biological catalysts that reduce the activation energy of a reaction in a short time and thus increase the speed of the reaction. The most common enzymes used in various industries, including the detergent industry, are lipases, amylases, celluloses, and proteases. Proteases are one of the most important industrial enzymes. The performance of enzymes is affected by the durability of their activity in long-term storage. Therefore, using a technique that can maintain the activity of enzymes, under storage and usage conditions, is an essential step in making a product containing enzymes. Stabilization-immobilization operation is one of the important downstream processes in...

Theoretical study of high repetition rate short pulse generation with fiber optical parametric amplification [electronic resource]

    , Article Journal of Lightwave Technology ; May 2012, Volume 30, Issue 9, PP. 1263-1268 Vedadi, A ; Ariaei, A. M ; Jadidi, M. M ; Salehi, J. A ; Sharif Unversity of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, we study theoretically the generation of high repetition rate short pulses using fiber optical parametric amplification. We show that the pulse shape and duration depend on the signal location relatively to the pump frequency. We demonstrate that in order to get the shortest pulse width, the signal must be located at one of the extremities of the gain spectrum associated with the pump peak power. We derive the analytical expression of the pulse shape in this case and compare it to the exponential gain regime case. Using numerical simulations, we also analyze the impact of walk-off and pump phase modulation that is required to suppress Stimulated Brillouin Scattering and derive...

    Abstract
This paper reports a polarization controllable and angle-insensitive perfect metamaterial absorber (PMA). The proposed PMA consists of periodically arranged asymmetric omega-shaped resonators made of metallic copper. The absorptivity was analyzed considering the microwave C-band from 4 GHz to 8 GHz. The proposed PMA shows an absorption peak with almost 100% absorptivity at 6.2 GHz. Also, wideband negative index of refraction is observed. Further, the absorber is inspected for the different rotation angles of the top metasurface (omega-shaped ring) along the optical axis, and obliquity of incidence angle for both TE and TM polarized waves. Moreover, surface electric field and surface current...

    Abstract
In cloud computing, services play key roles. Services are well defined and autonomous components. Nowadays, the demand of using Fuzzy inference as a service is increasing in the domain of complex and critical systems. In such systems, along with the development of the software, the cost of detecting and fixing software defects increases. Therefore, using formal methods, which provide clear, concise, and mathematical interpretation of the system, is crucial for the design of these Fuzzy systems. To obtain this goal, we introduce the Fuzzy Inference Cloud Service (FICS) and propose a novel discipline for formal modeling of the FICS. The FICS provides the service of Fuzzy inference to the...
