Checking the Compliance of Software Architecture Evolution with its Rules
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Izadi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
With long-term evolution of large scale software systems, the study and engineering of architectural evolution becomes more and more important. In order to manage high level changes, the architects should plan the architecture evolution in a series of releases. Planning and analysis of architectural evolution is a challenge and plays a significant role in evolution management. An assessment solution could promote overall accuracy and quality of the evolution process. Compliance checking with expert-defined rules is a well-known assessment solution and could be applied in the field of architectural evolution. In this thesis, a solution is proposed in order to compliance check these evolution...
Joint Pricing and Inventory Control for Non-instantaneous Deteriorating Items
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Modarres Yazdi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this study, the problem of pricing and inventory control for non-instantaneous deteriorating items with two separate warehouses is considered. One warehouse is owned and the other one is rented. The rented one has a higher holding cost due to better preserving facilities. In the literature, a common assumption is that the deterioration of items starts at the instant of their arrival, while in fact the majority of goods have a short time span for maintaining quality or original condition, during which no deterioration occurs. For non-instantaneous deteriorating items, the common assumptions may lead to the overvaluation of the total annual relevant inventory cost. In the present study a...
Performance Analysis and Power Optimization of Cooperative Networks with Channel Estimation Errors
, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Pakravan, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Sadeghi, Parastoo (Co-Advisor)
Abstract
Cooperative communications have been introduced to combat degrading effects of fading in wireless networks and attracted much attention recently. This technique provides distributed spatial diversity that enables energy-efficient transmission of information from source nodes to destination nodes via intermediate relay nodes. Most existing protocols, detection techniques and optimization methods in cooperative networks assume that perfect channel state information is available. While in practical situations, the estimates of the channels may only be known and for acquiring such knowledge, a fraction of power and bandwidth have to be spent for channel estimation using pilot symbols. In this...

Abstract
Assessment of architectural evolution is a challenge and plays a significant role in system evolution management. Although the evolution rules of the software architecture are defined by some expert engineers or architects, there is no guarantee that applying them will end to the desired change. So, having a reliable assessment technique promotes the overall accuracy and quality of the evolution process. Compliance checking with expert-defined rules is a well-known assessment approach that can be applied in architectural evolution. In this paper, an approach is proposed for compliance checking of evolution processes. To this end, evolution paths and processes are modeled by Reo coordination...

Abstract
Shaped charges are devices used for cutting or penetrating different aerial, on land, and underwater targets, based on the concentration of the explosion energy to the liner. The purpose of this study is to present a practical review of the studies related to shaped charges in the last twenty years (2000–2020). In this regard, these studies have been reviewed in two different categories for ordinary and advanced shaped charges. In the case of ordinary shaped charges, different aspects including shaped charges against different targets, different types of shaped charges (such as linear shaped charge and explosively formed penetrators), and theoretical advancements are presented. On the other...

Abstract
In this paper, the advantages of numerical simulation to improve the process of copper electroforming are demonstrated. In this regard, the finite element model of copper electroforming for a rotating cone electrode was first prepared and then, the effect of the key parameters, such as applied current density, solution conductivity, electrode spacing, and anode height, on the uniformity of the thickness was investigated. The model combines tertiary current distribution with Bulter–Volmer electrode kinetics and computational fluid dynamics at the turbulent condition. In order to validate the model, a cone-shaped shell was produced by electroforming method in the laboratory. The obtained...
