Intelligent Control of Hybrid Vehicles based on the Simultaneous Optimization of Fuel Consumption and Pollution Emission

Abstract
The issue under discussion in this paper is to optimize the fuel consumption of the Toyota Prius hybrid car. In order to solve this problem, the ADVISOR design model used by NREL in the Matlab / Simulink environment has been used. Various parts of this model are described. The optimization performed on this issue is based on the emotional controller. This controller works by simulating learning in animals based on encouraging and punishing them. With the introduction of the controller, the model and its inclusion in the fuel consumption control and its implementation have achieved good results. Abstract
An improved incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (ISPH) method is presented, which employs first-order consistent discretization schemes both for the first-order and second-order spatial derivatives. A recently introduced wall boundary condition is implemented in the context of ISPH method, which does not rely on using dummy particles and, as a result, can be applied more efficiently and with less computational complexity. To assess the accuracy and computational efficiency of this improved ISPH method, a number of two-dimensional incompressible laminar internal flow benchmark problems are solved and the results are compared with available analytical solutions and numerical data....

In this thesis, an Incompressible SPH (ISPH) method is used to simulate suspensions. A suspension is assumed to be a mixture of solid particles in a Newtonian fluid. First, renormalization tensors are applied to the discretized equations of SPH method. This leads to a higher accuracy in this method. It should be noted that the projection method is used for ISPH. After that, the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) is used to model and simulate the presence of solid particles in fluid flow. Some modifications were necessary to use IBM with Lagrangian approach. Abstract
The application of the solar energy in thermal desalination devices is one of the most beneficial applications of the renewable energies. In this study, a novel solar desalination system is introduced, which is benefited from the undeniable advantages of pulsating heat pipe (PHP) as a fast responding, flexible and high performance thermal conducting device. Results show a remarkable increase in the rate of desalinated water production and the maximum production reaches up to 875mL/(m2.h). However, the optimum water depth in basin and the filling ratio of the PHP are measured 1cm and 40%, respectively

Solar energy is turning to one of the important types of clean energies, due to its availability, and its potential for wide range of applications. In this work, a new passive solar desalination system is introduced, which benefits from excellences of twin-glass evacuated tube collectors. For the first time, the evacuated tube collector is not only used as the solar thermal collector, but also as a basin to heat the water. Hence, the thermal resistance between the collector and basin is virtually eliminated. A desalination system consumes energy for production of freshwater. Since the solar energy is a low-cost, environmentally clean, and available energy throughout the world, it could be the best source of energy for such systems. Laminar forced convection flow through a channel partially filled with a porous material was numerically studied in this thesis. The Navier-Stokes and Brinkman-Forchheimer equations were used to model the fluid flow in the free and porous regions, respectively.
