Sparse signal processing (SSP), as a powerful tool and an efficient alternative to traditional complete transforms, has become a focus of attention during the last decade. In this approach, we want to approximate a given signal as a linear combination of as few as possible basis signals. Each basis signal is called an atom and their collection is called a dictionary. Abstract
This research work presents a novel integrated structure for the cogeneration of electricity and renewable syngas. The base structure of the process is developed by solid oxide cells in which electricity is generated by the natural gas-fueled fuel cell unit, and renewable syngas is produced by the electrolyzer cell unit. Direct integration between fuel cell and electrolyzer cell units is established for optimal use of fuel cell off-gases. Abstract
The behaviour of an industrial refrigeration cycle with refrigerant propane has been investigated by the exergy method. An natural gas liquid recovery unit with its refrigeration cycle has been simulated to prepare the exergy analysis. Using a typical actual work input value; the exergetic efficiency of the refrigeration cycle is determined to be 26.51 % indicating a great potential for improvements. The obtained simulation results reveal that the exergetic efficiencies of the air cooler(s) and chilling sections get the lowest rank among the other compartments of refrigeration cycle. The power-to-liquid concept is a promising strategy to convert the power plants' flue gas to value-added liquid fuels using renewable energy. This technology could potentially reduce global greenhouse gases emissions and mitigate the environmental problems associated with the fossil fuels industry. The aim of this study is to employ feedback control loops to provide a stable forward dynamics simulation of human movement under repeated position constraint conditions in the environment, particularly during stair climbing. Laminar forced convection flow through a channel partially filled with a porous material was numerically studied in this thesis. The Navier-Stokes and Brinkman-Forchheimer equations were used to model the fluid flow in the free and porous regions, respectively.
