    Abstract
Thermomechnical processing and controlled rolling of microalloyed steel sheets are affected by several factors according to the final properties of product. To create the high mechanical properties, a uniform and fine-grain structure is necessary in hot rolled final products. To produce such microstructures, every stage of the thermomechanical processing of the steel rolling has to be carefully controlled. Hence, first step is grain coarsening control that it usually occurs during reheating for slab. For this purpose, seven different reheating temperatures between 1000 to 1300 °C with 50 °C increments were chosen in this investigation for soaking treatment. By soaking the specimens in...

Using Automata of Records as the Semantics of BIP Coordination Model

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mirahmadi, Mitra (Author) ; Izadi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In component-based design, each system consists of a set of heterogeneous components that are in interaction with each other. In this approach of design, computation is executed by the components, and their interactions are considered individually. BIP and Reo are coordination languages implemented in component-based modeling of systems. The BIP framework has a layered structure to separate interactions from the calculations. There are several approachesfor the formal definition of BIP layers. There are also semantics for BIP, based on two data-based and data-agnostic approaches. On the other hand, automata of records of a model is an operational semantics for Reo coordination language, one...

    Abstract
In this study, obtaining stress intensity factors (SIFs) for functionally graded cylinders with two internal radial cracks using the weight function method has been discussed. For this purpose, reference SIFs are calculated from the results of finite element analysis, using a modified domain of the J integral. Subsequently, SIFs have been calculated for different combinations of cylinder geometry, crack depth, and material gradation by implementing the weight function method and it is shown that the results are consistent with corresponding results obtained from finite element analysis. Moreover, the effects of variation in the elastic modulus ratio on SIFs have been investigated. © 2016...

    Abstract
The structure performances during past earthquakes indicate the importance of predicting behaviors of irregular structures under earthquakes. If the irregularity exceeds an expected limit, a seismic analysis should be carried out by a dynamic analysis method. The Endurance Time (ET) is a time-history method, base on dynamic analysis for seismic analyzing and designing the structures, in which structures are subjected to intensifying accelerogram functions and their Endurance Time is measured. One of the most applicable methods for RCF analysis is the Concentrated Hinge Model which is used in this research too. The needed parameters for modeling plasticity in concentrated hinge are achieved...

    Abstract
In large population Speaker Identification (SI), computation time has become one of the most important issues in recent real time systems. Test computation time depends on the cost of likelihood computation between test features and registered speaker models. For real time application of speaker identification, system must identify an unknown speaker quickly. Hence the conventional SI methods cannot be used. In this paper, we propose a two-step method that utilizes two different identification methods. In the first step we use Nearest Neighbor method to decrease the search space. In the second step we use GMM-based SI methods to specify the target speaker. We achieved 3.5× speed-ups without...

    Abstract
The presence of impurities in the copper electrolyte increases the energy consumption of an electrorefining process and contaminates the deposited copper on cathode. The concentration of impurities increases over time making it necessary to remove them from the solution. This research introduces a fast, effective, and simple method to refine the industrial electrolyte from arsenic, iron and antimony by solvent displacement crystallisation technique. In this method, when alcohol is added to the electrolyte, the impurities precipitate from the solution as amorphous arsenato antimonite phase. Results show that Fe, Sb, and As are removed from the copper electrolyte by 75.2, 96.9 and 99.8%,...

    Abstract
We determined the mechanism of mechanochemical synthesis of fluorapatite from CaO, CaF2 and P2O5 by characterisation of the intermediate compounds. We used atomic absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy to find the transitional compounds. Investigation of the binary and ternary powder mixtures revealed the appearance of H3PO4, Ca(OH)2, Ca2P2O7 and CaCO3 as the intermediate compounds. At early stages of the milling, conversions of P2O5 to H3PO4 and CaO to Ca(OH)2 occurred in the wet atmosphere. Later, a combination of Ca(OH)2 and H3PO4 formed Ca2P2O7 while the unreacted CaO was converted to...

Determination of Forming Limit Diagram with Existence of Normal Stress and Investigation on the Methods of Calibration in this Diagram

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khakpour Nejad Khaki, Hamid (Author) ; Assempour, Ahmad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Theoretical studies in the analysis of sheet metal failures are referred to obtain the Forming Limit Diagrams (FLDs). Since extracting the Forming Limit Diagrams experimentally is cost and time consuming, many researches have been accomplished for obtaining these diagrams theoretically. However, in many of these researches, the assumption of plane stress state has been used to obtain the FLD, which is not correct in some processes such as hydroforming because of high level of normal stress. In this study, determination of the forming limit diagram with existence of the normal stress is based on the Marciniak and Kuczynski model. Newton-Raphson method has been used to find the set of...
