3D modeling of a superconducting transition edge detector

Abstract
Improving the sensitivity and the time response of the superconducting transition edge detectors as one of the most promising technologies for millimeter and sub-millimeter wavelength radiation power detection is essential. Having an accurate 3D model for these detectors enables us to design faster detectors with higher sensitivity and detectivity. In this paper, we report on a 3-dimensional finite element model of a current biased superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) transition-edge detector fabricated by a low-cost Metal-Organic deposition method. In this paper, a new control strategy and power management for a stand-alone PV/battery hybrid power system has been suggested. The solar cell arrays provide energy in the steady-state and the battery provides energy in transient states. Abstract
In this article, we report on the design and fabrication of wideband high-efficiency linear cross-polarizers operating in transmission mode at millimeter waves. The proposed structures include a metasurface-based analyzer layer consisting of modified double asymmetric split-ring resonator elements. The proposed analyzer layer along with an optimized polarizer layer is integrated into an ultra-thin double-layer printed circuit board. A resonant cut-wire-based metasurface and a non-resonant wire-grid structure are designed as the polarizer layer. Oil leakage of transportation pipelines causes a change in its environmental temperature. This effect is employed to detect the leakage and its positions. The Raman Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (ROTDR) and Brillouin Optical Time Domain Amplifier (BOTDA) sensors are two of the most precise oil pipeline leak detector systems operate based on this effect. Abstract
Recently, many researches show Augmented Reality (AR) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) can help people with disabilities. In this paper we implement an innovative system for helping deaf people by combining AR, ASR, and AVSR technologies. This system can instantly take narrator's speech and converts it into readable text and shows it directly on AR display. We show that our system's accuracy becomes over 85 percent on average, by using different ASR engines near using an AVSR engine in different noisy environments. Abstract
Since the air density reduces as altitude increases, operation of small wind turbines (SWTs), which usually have no pitch adjustment, remains challenging at high altitudes due largely to the reduction of starting aerodynamic torque. By reducing the moment of inertia through the use of hollow blades, this study aims to speed up the starting while maintaining the structural integrity of the blades and high output power. A horizontal axis turbine with hollow blades was designed for two sites in Iran with altitude of 500 m and 3000 m. In present paper, dynamic behavior and control of a fluidized bed reactor for polyethylene production has been considered. A double active sites model for Ziegler-Natta catalysts is used for simulation of polymerization reaction. Hydrodynamic behavior of the bed is modeled using a two phase model including bubble and emulsion phases in which bubble phase has plug flow pattern with differentially variable velocity and size through the bed and emulsion phase has the CSTR flow pattern. The present work is comprised of two main parts. In part 1 the Co-Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared using a sol-gel procedure. Then the effect of calcination variables including the calcination temperature and time on the catalytic performance for production of light olefins was investigated and optimized. In this study, we propose an integrated all-fiber Cascade Fabry–Perot (CFP) sensor that uses the harmonic Vernier effect to enhance its sensitivity. We report on the response of a monolithic high Tc transition-edge bolometer to about 3 mmWave for the first time. The detector structure consisting of 400-nm YBa2Cu3O7-x(YBCO) film on buffered yttria stabilized zirconia substrate without any coupled antenna, shows bolometric type responsivity to the 3-mmWave radiation at its transition temperature. The YBCO thin film Ce0.9La0.1O2 buffer layer are both fabricated by the metal-organic deposition method. Injection locked frequency dividers (ILFD) are used for frequency division to reduce the overall power consumption. By injecting a high frequency signal to an LC oscillator, injecting signal gets synchronous with oscillator output. All ILFDs analysis reports are based on steady state solution when locking is reached. At the same time, it is important to consider transient analysis too. In this paper a simple model is developed to study phase transient analysis when injecting signal is small in amplitude. This model can be used for large signal injection as a good approximation

Abstract
A 5GHz, 1.5 Volt and low power CMOS frequency synthesizer with LC-tuned VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) is presented. The synthesizer consists of an LC-tuned VCO, an injection-lock frequency divider, a very low power prescaler which brings 2.5GHz range frequency to 11 MHz, a phase-frequency detector and charge-pump with improved architecture. Spiral inductors with Q-factor of 9 are used for the LC-tuned 5 GHz VCO. A fixed 2 frequency divider based on injection-locking phenomenon is used to bring 5 GHz VCO frequency to 2.5GHz. Both VCO and injection-locked divider's oscillators are tuned with NMOS varactors with their bodies are grounded, resulting in about 700 MHz tuning range....

We use concepts to make distinctions. Blurring these distinctions results in conflations. So, they are commonly seen as vicious. The claim here is that, by contrast, conflations are virtuous because they can do cognitive work. They enrich our conceptual resources. It is not conflation per se that is destructive but the lack of evaluation. Committing a conflation requires two cognitive acts at once. First, keeping things together and, second, appreciating the gap between them. Conflation thus has a family resemblance with notions like analogy and metaphor.
