The Role of Surface Functionalization of Nanodiamond on the Vulcanization Kinetics and Network Structure of SBR
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shojaie, Akbar (Supervisor)
Abstract
Elastomers are flexible polymers with various uses in different industries. But this materials dont havevalid usages without correct fillers. Today Nano technology has a main role in the industry. one of the important reasons is rubber quality improvement with adding just a little amount of this clays, opposite to Carbon Black. To achieve a high quality polymer composite, it is necessary to learn about physical and mechanical properties of nano clays and the interaction between Nano clays and matrix. Because of the effect of nano clays on vulcanization, this issue is noticeable . Nano diamond is a nanoclay used to improve rubber quality. But this method is new because of the complicated...
Application and evaluation of RUSLE erosion model in JAJROOD watershed (ROODAK) with G.I.S
, Article Proceedings of the 2nd IASTED International Conference on Environmental Management and Engineering, EME 2010, 15 July 2010 through 17 July 2010, Banff, AB ; July , 2010 , Pages 879-887 ; 9780889868526 (ISBN) ; Sajadi, A ; Nazari, A ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
In this study amount of soil erosion in watershed of JAJROOD is estimated by use of the RULSE model with the help of GIS12. JAJROOD River is located in upstream of LATIAN Dam and is one of the most important water sources of Tehran. Also, this River has a big role in preventing the flood. modeling Results show that the amount of soil erosion is high due to high slope of the land, lack of plant coverage and the quality of soil and changing the land application, lead to increase in erosion potential. modeling Results have estimated the amount of erosion in this basin about 1,524,511 tons in a year. In order to evaluate Results and efficiency of the model, all of obtained results are compared...
Cost Based Comparing of Different Retrofitting Strategies for URM Schools and Choosing the Best Possible One
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kazemi, Mohammad Taghi (Supervisor)
Abstract
Among different natural disasters, earthquake has always been known as one of the most effective ones on human lives, and this is only because we still cannot predict the exact time and place of its happening. So, giving special attention to the methods which can omit or minimize the damages of this natural event is needed for controlling the loss in the event of an earthquake. On the other hand schools are known as places which are full of people from younger ages for at least half of each day, and they are considered to be not well educated about how to react in an earthquake in comparison to older people and also considered vulnerable at the time of this natural event. According to what...
Evaluation of Vermifilter Efficiency in Petroleum Wastewater Treatment (BTEX)
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Torkian, Ayub (Supervisor) ; Mirzai, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
The aim of this thesis was to find the optimum retention time for treatment of synthetic petroleum wastewater by a wastewater treatment system made with a bucket, mineral material and earthworms residing in a vermibed. In order to make the desired flow happen, height difference was utilized. The polluting substance used for making wastewater was BTEX. As the wastewater was synthetic, the concentration was also a variable. The ultimate soluble concentration was 3200 mg/l and more concentrations were not tested. Parameters such as number of worms, worm’s growth rate and their distribution pattern, humidity amount and distribution and worm’s acclimatization time during organic loading shock...

Abstract
The compounds α-lead oxide (α-PbO) and β-lead oxide (β-PbO) were purchased from Merck co. and used for thermal investigations in laboratory. The compound was heated in a thermogravimeter at different temperature, from 25 to 400 °C. The used gas atmosphere was O2. The received products were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The received product Pb3O4 was confirmed by XRD. The textures of two different morphologies of α-PbO, β-PbO and the product Pb3O4 is investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) techniques. © 2018, Faculty of Metallurgy. A review on impacts of drilling mud disposal on environment and underground water resources in south of Iran
, Article Proceedings of the SPE/IADC Middle East Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition, 26 October 2009 through 28 October 2009 ; 2009 , Pages 447-454 ; 9781615677450 (ISBN) ; Dashtian, H ; Paiaman Mirzai, A ; Al Anazi, B. D ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
In drilling oil wells a system of complex fluids and chemical additives is used. Losses of these fluids in the well during drilling or disposal of them in well site could transfer pollutants to groundwater. In the present study a number of well sites, located in South of Iran, were studied to indicate types and magnitude of various pollutant materials that remain in the environment undestroyed and have considerable impacts on the underground water resources. Hydrocarbons used in Oil Base Muds (OBM) that can't be biodegrade readily in nature found to be the most severe pollutant material caused by disposal of Drilling Mud and Cuttings. Volume of drilling waste for these oil wells evaluated to...
On Site wastewater Treatment for Reuse
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Hashemian, Jamaloddin (Supervisor) ; Saidi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Mirzai, Mohamad (Supervisor)
Abstract
With the aim of making a pilot in two-steps, this thesis at 4 month accomplished. In first step, municipal sewage after passing of a septic tank loaded with daily 2 or 4m3/m2 rate to a vermi-filter while removal rate of COD was 83 and 64 percent respectively. In addition, the turbidity removal rate was 92 and 83 percent respectively. The results showed that vermi-filter is a suitable and cheap way for on-site wastewater treatment that is environmentally agreeable and odorless. Furthermore, the treated sewage is suitable for irrigate and flush tank usage. In the second step, for ground water denitrification, a synthetic wastewater with high nitrate, which nitrate is initially 13.5ppm NO3-N...
