    Effects of Weighting and Root Matrices on LQG Compensators

    Abstract
    The LQG theory made its appearance in the fifties and sixties. It has now become one of the standard methods for compensator design. Despite the existing powerful tools in modern control, there seems to be few or no systematic approaches proposed for determining the weighting and root matrices which are the free parameters of the compensator. These matrices are often found by trial-and-error. Initially, this thesis presents an iterative algorithm for determining the compensator parameters. The algorithm is based upon making corrections to the singular values graphs in order to enhance closed-loop performance and robustness.     Magnetic bearings have been introduced in recent decades to overcome the problem of energy loses due to friction in bearings of rotating machinery. In magnetic bearings, the rotor is suspended by magnetic forces without any friction. These bearings are of the two types of passive and active. In Passive Magnetic Bearings (PMB), magnetic forces are generated by permanent magnets and have the ability to tolerate a small distribution.     Performance Bounds in Optimal Control for SISO Systems

    Abstract
    In this thesis, performance bounds for the optimal control of discrete-time LTI plants are proposed. Results of stable plants with relative degree but no finite nonminimum-phase zero that have been done in the literature, are reported. According to model-matching problem and Nehari’s Theorem for finding performance bound in discrete-time, an algorithm in seven steps is posed. Meanwhile by using of presented algorithm, a case of nonminimum phase stable plants and several cases of unstable plants for finding performance bound is studied. By using of Matlab, A program for performance bound in plants with no poles Nor zeros on the unit circle is presented.

    The problem of launching a satellite to low earth orbit has been considered. Preliminary concepts such as satellite orbits, launcher missiles and their equations of motion, and traditional methods for guidance of launchers are reviewed first. Then a new method for optimizing the launch trajectory under non-ideal conditions is introduced in which the solution of a known ideal trajectory optimization problem is used as an initial guess for the actual optimization problem.     Abstract
    In this paper, a new method is proposed for modal parameter estimation using time-frequency representations. Smoothed Pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution which is a member of the Cohen's class distributions is used to decouple vibration modes completely in order to study each mode separately. This distribution reduces cross-terms which are troublesome in Wigner-Ville distribution and retains the resolution as well. The method was applied to highly damped systems, and results were superior to those obtained via other conventional methods. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

The framework is Markov equilibrium whereby structural parameters are obtained using two-step estimations, allowing for analyzing the situation in case of subsidies for service upgrade.     Abstract
    The correlation between religious adherence and voter turnout is widely studied. However, whether the relation is causal is an open question. We use Household Expenditures and Income Survey (HEIS) data in Iran, which encompasses nine distinct religious expenditures. These expenditures have low correlation with each other and represent different aspects of religious adherence. We use Imamzadeh (some historical holy shrines) as Instruments to estimate the causal effect of religious expenditures on voter turnout. The results reveal that religious expenditures influence both presidential and parliamentary voter turnout, with a notably stronger impact on presidential elections

    In this study steady state and dynamic simulation of an NFM extractive distillation unit for seperation of aromatics and non-aromatic components has been carried out. Column output composition obtained with experimental binary coefficients is compared with those obtainded by UNIFAC equation. The results indicate that using UNIFAC for all binrary coefficients results in an unacceptable error in concentration of benzene. If the experimental binary coefficents of benzene with NFM are used and the rest are calculated by UNIFAC equation, the simulation results will be very close to those obtained via experimental binary coefficients.
