Abstract
In this study, a simple and novel control technique for Power Factor Correction (PFC) is introduced, which is a SEPIC-based (Single-ended Primary-inductor Converter based) rectifier with high input power factor. Operation of the proposed method is based on sampling of input and output voltages in SEPIC rectifier. Using samples of input and output voltage, this control system makes the input current to follow a sinusoidal path. Abstract
In this study, leaching of reverberatory furnace dust at Sarcheshmeh was investigated in H2SO4-O3 medium. Response surface methodology based on central composite face-centered design (RSM-CCF) was applied to optimize the operating parameters. The optimal conditions to achieve the principle objectives of maximizing copper dissolution and minimizing iron dissolution from dust were identified to be a temperature of 30 °C, a leaching time of 3 h, an initial pH of 0.5, a pulp density of 20%, and an ozone flow rate of 1 g/h. The heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) is one of the few equipments that are custom made for combined cycle power plants, and any change in its design affects all performance parameters of a steam cycle directly. Abstract
In this study, leaching of Sarcheshmeh Reverberatory Furnace Dust was investigated in the H2SO4-O3 media. Electric networks often consist of remote cities or villages with low population densities, which consume a considerably small amount of energy. This can be in the order of a few megawatts for places that are up to 100 km away from the source. In this research, the process of producing manganese sulfate from a low-grade manganese oxide ore through acid digestion-leaching and antisolvent crystallization was studied. First, a quantity of low-grade ore was prepared and concentrated using a shaking table. The resulting concentrate contained 39.25% manganese, 24.31% silica, and 4.01% iron, and was composed of quartz, pyrolusite, manganite, goethite, and lime. In this paper we proposed a novel inverter to convert a DC voltage to a desired AC voltage. This inverter is designed for variable inductive loads and low output power applications. We proposed a novel simple PWM method which enables the inverter to keep the output current at six times more than the rated output current, without reducing output voltage value. In addition, based on a simple use of resonance in the circuit, the new inverter can raise the output voltage to extremely high amplitude for a relatively short time. Nitinol superelastic stents have been considered as a solution to such difficulties as restenosis after implantation, low twisting ability, inadequate radial mechanical strength and inappropriate dynamic behaviors associated with the ducts. In vivo dose-dependent effects of nanoscale graphene oxide (NGO) sheets on reproduction capability of Balb/C mice were investigated. Biodistribution study of the NGO sheets (intravenously injected into male mice at dose of ∼2000 μg/mL or 4 mg/kg of body weight) showed a high graphene uptake in testis. Hence, in vivo effects of the NGO sheets on important characteristics of spermatozoa (including their viability, morphology, kinetics, DNA damage and chromosomal aberration) were evaluated. Abstract
Asian red ginseng was used for green reduction of chemically exfoliated graphene oxide (GO) into reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The reduction level and electrical conductivity of the ginseng-rGO sheets were comparable to those of hydrazine-rGO ones. Reduction by ginseng resulted in repairing the sp 2 graphitic structure of the rGO, while hydrazine-rGO showed more defects and/or smaller aromatic domains. The ginseng-rGO sheets presented a better stability against aggregation than the hydrazine-rGO ones in an aqueous suspension. We present the first public code for the calculation of the astrometric centroid shift occurring during microlensing events. The computation is based on the contour integration scheme and covers single and binary lensing of finite sources with arbitrary limb darkening profiles. This allows for general detailed investigations of the impact of finite source size in astrometric binary microlensing. Magnetic flux leakage is the most widely used method for oil and gas pipeline non destructive testing. The saturation level of the sample under test has a significant effect on its efficiency; therefore, the magnetizing yoke requires an elaborate design. The finite element method is the conventional approach used for this purpose, but it is very time consuming. In this article, a neuro-fuzzy method is presented to model the behavior of the magnetizing yoke.
