Application of Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Systems in Controller Design of Nonlinear Processes
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shahrokhi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
Most of dynamical models in the real world, have various restrictions and complexities in their structures. These constraints make the controller design much more difficult. In this work, it has been tried to design the controller for two kinds of common dynamical systems in the presence of these restriction by using the fuzzy logic systems. Several restrictions are investigated in this project such as unknown dynamic of the model, unmeasured state variables, unknown control directions, existence of time delay in the input and the state variables, input saturation and controller singularity. The backstepping technique and the dynamic surfaces control approach have been used to design the...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Soltani, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
Abstract
Supersonic inlets, as one of the most important components of fighter aircraft, are designed to provide the required airflow with an acceptable level of energy and quality and with a minimum drag. From the inlet design point of view, there exist various configurations that are based on different criterion such as supersonic flow compression region, flow dimensions, and installation position, to name a few. The flight Mach number, M∞, could further complicate the design and structure of these types of inlets. One of the requirements for minimum drag is that at supersonic speed the shock wave that forms in front of the inlet must impinge on the cowl lip, called shock on lip condition (SOL). ...

Abstract
In this paper, the use of colloid chemistry in the synthesis of 5 A° lead sulfide semiconductor nanoparticles has been described. Here, hydrogen sulfide gas dissolved in water is used for the chemical reaction, instead of purging the H2S gas into the solution, which has an influence on particle size. In this technique, the growth of particles was controlled by the addition of EDTA. A fast evolution of the optical absorption spectrum demonstrated the following synthesis. Soon after synthesis reaction, the sample exhibits a structural absorption spectrum with one well-defined peak in a 240 nm wavelength. The absorption spectrum shows a featureless structure, with no tail near the absorption...

Abstract
The relation between porosity and permeability parameters in carbonated rocks is complicated and indistinct. Flow units are defined with aim of better understanding reservoir unit flow behavior and relation between porosity and permeability. Flow units reflect a group of rocks with same geological and physical properties which affect fluid flow, but they do not necessarily coincide with boundary of facies. In each flow unit homogeneity of data is preserved and this homogeneity fades in the boundaries. Here, in this study, three methods are used for identification of flow units and estimation of average porosity and permeability in three wells of Tabnaak gas field located in south of Iran....

Abstract
The compressive strength of mass concrete in dams is obtained from laboratory experiments of various cylindrical specimens with diameters of 150, 250, and 300 mm, and heights of 300, 500, and 450 mm, respectively. These specimens with 37.5, 75, and 150 mm maximum size of aggregate were investigated. The 7- and 90-day compressive strength of concrete was found to be between 20 and 58 MPa depending on the size of the specimens. The results reveal the existence of a significant size effect. Based on test results, relationships between the strength of mass concrete specimens and their size and shape are developed. Finally, results and a discussion are presented regarding compressive strength...
