Abstract
In this study, ZnO-Red Ochre nanocomposite was green synthesized by Rosa Damascena (RD) extract (RDZRONCs). Proton Induced X-ray Emission microanalysis (Micro-PIXE) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern confirmed the presence of hematite (Fe2O3), and quartz (SiO2) mineral phases in the Red Ochre (RO) nanoclay. In addition, the XRD pattern shows the ZnO, ZnFe2O4, SiO2, Fe2O3, and Si phases in the RDZRONCs that were green synthesized with natural RD extract and RO. The RDZRONCs were used to modify the carbon paste electrode (CPE) for the electrochemical determination of the anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques...

Abstract
A new methodology has been proposed to control the distribution of mass in an aircraft during the design and development process. Having estimated the total mass, the aircraft is considered to be composed of different segments each with an unknown mass and the equations of motion are derived based on this discritized mass model. A suitable mass distribution is then found based on the desired dynamic and static stability criterion. Using this methodology the aircraft static margin can be controlled by changing the external shape (Xac) as well as mass distribution (Xcg). By relating all applicable mass moments of inertia to the frequencies and damping ratios of longitudinal and...

Abstract
This article presents an enhanced power-synchronized grid-following inverter (ePSGFLI) for reliable and stable integration of renewable energy resources into the grid. By eliminating the use of a phase-locked loop (PLL) in the control loop, the ePSGFLI resolves instability issues commonly associated with conventional PLL-based grid-following inverters (GFLIs). Furthermore, in contrast to existing PLL-less strategies like linear parameter-varying control of power-synchronized GFLI (LPV-PSGFLI), which suffer from steady-state errors and instability during grid frequency deviations, the proposed ePSGFLI ensures stable performance without steady-state errors, regardless of the strength of the...

TiO2/SiO2/HPAsnanocompositeswas prepared by the sol-gel technique at room tempareture and used as the heterogeneous catalysts for the acylation of alcohols employing acetic anhydrid under solvent-free conditions at room tempareture. It was found that the catalytic activity of TiO2/SiO2/HPAs, in all cases of HPAs, was much higher than that of TiO2/SiO2. The most catalytic activity was obtained by TiO2/SiO2/H14NaP5W30O110 which completed the acylation reaction of benzyl alcohol at 1h. Examining the various concentrations of H14NaP5W30O110 in the composite, 9% w/w concentration of TiO2/SiO2/HPAs showed maximum catalytic activity, and by increasing the HPA concentration, activity remains...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Mahmoodi Hashemi, Mohammed (Supervisor) ; Ziyaei Halimehjani, Azim (Co-Advisor)
Abstract
In the first section, for the first time, a reaction of dithiocarbamic acid salts with carbonyl compounds has been investigated in the presence of BF3.OEt2. The reaction is temperature dependent meaning that the reaction gives two different products at low and high temperatures. At 15-20 0C, the 2-iminium-1,3-dithietane is the main product. As the reaction temperature goes up, formation of gem-bis(dithiocarbamates) is dominant. In addition, deprotection of gem-bis(dithiocarbamates) was investigated by using of nitric acid as the only deprotecting agent. The structure of a 2-iminium-1,3-dithietane was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Abstract
Core/shell structure of ZnO nanowires coated with a monolayer of TiO 2 is investigated using Density Functional Theory (DFT). The electronic states of the semiconductor is calculated and compared before and after coating of the TiO2 monolayer on a ZnO [101 0] surface. The effect of TiO2 coating induce surface states changes and shifts the conduction and valence band edges to higher energies. Our results, in qualitative agreement with the experimental work of Matt Law et al. (J. Phys. Chem. B, 110, 22652), show an increase in open circuit voltage and a decrease in short circuit current in ZnO/TiO2 core shell dye sensitized solar cells. Regarding the semiconductor density of states (DOS), TiO2...

Abstract
Monolithic dye-sensitized solar cells are conventionally fabricated using carbon composite layer as the counter electrode. In the current research, the brittle carbon composite layer is replaced with a metal foil, aiming to decrease the device series resistance and using less catalyst material in counter electrode. This metallic structure has also an advantage of mechanical strength and decreases the fabrication complexity. The counter electrode is prepared by electrodepositing Cr film followed by electrodepositing Pt nanoparticles on a metal foil. As the porous spacer layer, different composite layers of SiO2, TiO2, and Al2O3 are investigated and the best results are obtained for TiO2...

Abstract
Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have been a potential green energy source for a long time but one of the problems is that either the technology must be used on a large scale or special equipment have been necessary to keep the fuel cells running such as syringe pumps. Paper-based microbial fuel cells do not need to have a syringe pump to run and can run entirely by themselves when placed in contact with the fluids that are necessary for it to run. Paper-based microbial fuel cells are also more compact than traditional MFCs since the device doesn't need any external equipment to run. The goal of this paper is to develop a microbial fuel cell that does not require a syringe pump to function. This...
