, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Ardeshir, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this dissertation, we study (first-order) arithmetical interpretations for propositional (modal and non-modal) logics. More precisely, the following results are included in this dissertation: an axiomatization for provability logic of Heyting Arithmetic, HA, and its self-completion HA := HA + PrHA(⌜A⌝) ! A for 1-substitutions is provided, and their arithmetical completeness theorems are proved. We also show that they are decidable. The de Jongh property for Basic Arithmetic BA, HA and HA + □ are proved
Optimization of Pressure Leaching of Chalcopyrite Concentrate with Oxygen and Kinetics Study of the Process in Sulfuric Acid Solution
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Yoozbashizadeh, Hossein (Supervisor)
Abstract
The enormous benefits of hydrometallurgical processes have led to the progressive metals extraction industry. Many studies are carried out on the application of these processes in the copper extraction industry. In this research, the oxygen pressure leaching of chalcopyrite concentrate was studied. Experiments were carried out under conditions of the solid-liquid ratio of 0.1, agitation speed of 750 rpm, and sulfuric acid concentration of 2M in a stainless-steel autoclave system. Central composite design (CCD) was used to design experiments, and three factors of temperature, time, and pressure of oxygen, were selected as design variables. The obtained model for %Cu includes parameters of...

A Study of Intragroup Block-Trading Incentives on the Tehran Stock Exchange
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Heidari, Mehdi (Supervisor) ; Ebrahimnejad, Ali (Supervisor)
Abstract
Using the data of the Tehran Stock Exchange, we analyze the characteristics and explanatory factors of major intra-group and out-of-group transactions and test the tunneling hypothesis in intra-group transactions. We find that out-of-group transactions can be largely explained by changes in control or management, firm size, and the type of the firm. However, intra-group transaction properties mostly depend on the difference between the parent company's cash flow rights in the buyer and seller companies. Also, in the final analysis, we conclude that many intra-group transactions are made to change the structure of the business groups, especially when investment companies buy shares of listed...

Abstract
In this research work, the pressure leaching of chalcopyrite concentrate with oxygen was studied. Experiments were carried out under conditions of the solid–liquid ratio of 0.1, agitation speed of 750 rpm, and sulfuric acid concentration of 2 M in a stainless-steel autoclave system under 0.6 to 1 MPa oxygen gas. Central composite design was used to design experiments, and three factors of temperature, time, and oxygen pressure were selected as the design variables. A linear model for %Cu and a quadratic model for %Fe were proposed by Minitab Software. The results showed that temperature is the most effective factor in chalcopyrite leaching. Under optimal conditions, 93.08% of copper with the...

Abstract
This paper presents a new transform domain to evaluate the goodness of fit of natural image data to the common Benford's Law. The evaluation is made by three statistical fitness criteria including Pearson's chi-square test statistic, normalized cross correlation and a distance measure based on symmetrized Kullback-Leibler divergence. It is shown that the serial combination of variance filtering and block 2-D discrete cosine transform reveals the best goodness of fit for the first significant digit. We also show that the proposed transform domain brings reasonable fit for the second, third and fourth significant digits. As an application, the proposed transform domain is utilized to detect...

Abstract
This paper presents a novel technique to discover double JPEG compression traces. Existing detectors only operate in a scenario that the image under investigation is explicitly available in JPEG format. Consequently, if quantization information of JPEG files is unknown, their performance dramatically degrades. Our method addresses both forensic scenarios which results in a fresh perceptual detection pipeline. We suggest a dimensionality reduction algorithm to visualize behaviors of a big database including various single and double compressed images. Based on intuitions of visualization, three bottom-up, top-down and combined top-down/bottom-up learning strategies are proposed. Our tool...

Abstract
The current double JPEG compression detection techniques identify whether or not an JPEG image file has undergone the compression twice, by knowing its embedded quantization table. This paper addresses another forensic scenario in which the quantization table of a JPEG file is not explicitly or reliably known, which may compel the forensic analyst to blindly reveal the recompression clues. To do this, we first statistically analyze the theory behind quantized alternating current (AC) modes in JPEG compression and show that the number of quantized AC modes required to detect double compression is a function of both the image’s block texture and the compression’s quality level in a fresh...

Abstract
Recompression is a prevalent form of multimedia content manipulation. Different approaches have been developed to detect this kind of alteration for digital images of well-known JPEG format. However, they are either limited in performance or complex. These problems may arise from different quality level options of JPEG compression standard and their combinations after recompression. Inspired from semantic and perceptual analyses, in this paper, we suggest a part-level middle-out learning strategy to detect double compression via an architecturally efficient classifier. We first demonstrate that singly and doubly compressed data with different JPEG coder settings lie in a feature space...

Abstract
In the present study, the behavior of fin pile under lateral loading was investigated by ABAQUS software. First, the generated model was verified against an available experimental small-scale test in the literature. Having conducted verification, a study was carried out on the fin pile dimensions under lateral loading. Different parameters, such as pile diameter, fin’s length, and width, were studied. Moreover, a study on the fin’s aspect ratio by setting fin’s area constant was conducted, and then, optimum fin’s ratio was obtained. The results indicated that both fin’s length and width could improve pile efficiency under lateral loading, yet fin’s length had a more critical impact, and...

Abstract
A novel one-pot reductive coupling of imine or iminium ion generated in the concentrated ethereal lithium perchlorate solution was achieved in the presence of lithium metal. The yield of the reaction depends on the reactivity preformed imine or iminium ion. Diamines were formed with high diastereoselectivity in some cases in about 5 h. The reaction time was doubled without the use of ultrasound acceleration

Abstract
In the open-pit mines and civil projects, drilling and blasting is the most common method for rock fragmentation aims. This article proposes a new hybrid forecasting model based on firefly algorithm, as an algorithm optimizer, combined with the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system for estimating the fragmentation. In this regard, 72 datasets were collected from Shur river dam region, and the required parameters were measured. Using the different input parameters, six hybrid models were constructed. In these models, 58 and 14 data were used for training and testing, respectively. The proposed hybrid models were then evaluated in accordance with statistical criteria such as coefficient of...
