Abstract
The purpose of this research is to provide an analytical solution using first order shear deformation theory for nonlinear bending of rectangular FG plate under mechanical and thermal loads with different boundary conditions. To achieve this goal, extended Kantorovich method have been used. This method has a high convergence rate and is more accurate than other approximate methods, such as the Ritz and Galerkin methods, because the partially differential equations are converted to ordinary differential equations. Abstract
Metal pH50 and ΔpH50 values were determined and compared for a number of organic systems to select a synergistic system for the separation of Cd from Zn. The largest ΔpH50(Zn-Cd) value was obtained with HRJ-4277 (nonylsalicylic acid)/Cyanex 471X (triisobutyl phosphine sulphide or TIBPS) system and reached 1.53 pH units, indicating excellent separation of Cd from Zn with this system. Shellsol 2046 was chosen as the diluent of the system due to its larger ΔpH50(Zn-Cd) and excellent phase separation compared with other diluents. In this study, microstructural aspects that control fracture and deformation resistance of P/M materials are evaluated. Several low-alloy steels were produced under both experimental and commercial conditions for achieving different matrix phases and porosity levels with varying shape factors. Abstract
In regard to highly poisonous effects of cyanide ion, concerns have been focused recently on treatment of such compounds in different ways. Four bacterial strains (C1-C4) capable of using cyanide as nitrogen source were isolated from contaminated gold mine soil samples under alkaline conditions at 30 °C, pH 9.5-10.5, and agitation speed 150 rpm. The gram-negative bacterium C3 (identified as Pseudomonas parafulva NBRC 16636(T) by 16S rRNA gene sequencing) was able to tolerate cyanide up to 500 ppm besides removing 93.5% of 200 ppm cyanide in 13 days which was confirmed by microorganisms growth. The environmental pollutions besides wasting the valuable materials as two main challenges in pyrometallurgical processes have brought up the tendency towards the hydrometallurgical processes. In the present study, the recovery of germanium from leaching residues of zinc plant has been investigated. Abstract
Modified couple stress theory is a size-dependent theorem capturing the micro/nanoscale effects influencing the mechanical behaviors of the micro- and nanostructures. In this paper, it is applied to investigate the nonlinear vibration of carbon nanotubes under step DC voltage. The vibration, natural frequencies and dynamic pull-in characteristics of the carbon nanotubes are studied in detail. Moreover, the effects of various boundary conditions and geometries are scrutinized on the dynamic characteristics. The results reveal that application of this theory leads to the higher values of the natural frequencies and dynamic pull-in voltages
