Analysis of Digital DSP Blocks Using GDI Technology

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Faed, Mahdi (Author) ; Mortazavi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In line with developments in the technology of integrated circuits, transistors are implemented in silicon. Although the price is reduced; design is more complicated, which causes the efficiency and power consumption to face some difficulties in such design. The reason why modern GDI-based circuit is the focus of attention is that in designing a digital circuit, less power is required while more efficiency is obtained. Lowering the complexity of the logic circuit can bring about reduction of power consumption and propagation delay and decrease the circuit space. GDI-based integrated circuits resemble MOSFET transistors but have fewer transistors and higher performance capability. This study...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mortazavi, Hassan (Author) ; Vossoughi, Gholamreza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This research aims to design and evaluate a generalized algorithm for predicting knee joint angle during gait. To achieve this, electromyography (EMG) sensors were attached to muscles involved in knee joint motion to record their activity. By analyzing and extracting features from these signals, a machine learning model was developed to establish a relationship between the EMG signals as input and the knee joint angle as output. The study prioritizes a model that can be quickly adapted to new users with minimal data, making meta-learning the core approach. This method shares similarities with transfer learning and was trained using two datasets, each containing data from over 10 subjects....

    2009
    Abstract
This paper presents a new model of call admission control which consists of a few key elements for protecting the network in different conditions of workload in a manner that, calls blocking /dropping are kept under desired level. This model consists of two traffic classes of voice and data. In order to give a priority to handoff call over new call, some parameters in this model are adjusted in a manner that handoff dropping is reduced to the least probability in the target cell and the adjacent cells. Some channels are reserved for voice and data calls in each cell to guarantee the quality of service requirements in the network. Limited fractional guard channel is used to have an optimized...

    , Article Applied Organometallic Chemistry ; Volume 34, Issue 3 , 2020 Mortazavi Manesh, A ; Bagherzadeh, M ; Sharif University of Technology
John Wiley and Sons Ltd  2020
    Abstract
In this study, a new polymeric functionalized magnetic nanocatalyst containing a molybdenum Schiff base complex was prepared using a few consecutive steps. Poly (methylacrylate)-coated magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized via radical polymerization of methyl acrylate onto modified magnetic nanoparticles followed by the amidation of the methyl ester groups with hydrazine. Polymeric functionalization efficiently provides the advantage that more catalytic units can be grafted on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles. The functionalization process was continued with salicylaldehyde which introduced Schiff base groups on to the surface of the polymeric support. In the final step, the desired...

    , Article Physical Review D ; Volume 108, Issue 5 , 2023 ; 24700010 (ISSN) Mortazavi Ghalati, H ; Sadooghi, N ; Sharif University of Technology
    American Physical Society  2023
    Abstract
The effect of rotation on the formation of the magnetic dual chiral density wave (MDCDW) in a dense and magnetized cold quark matter is studied. This phase is supposed to exist in the extreme conditions prevailing, e.g., in a neutron star. These conditions are, apart from high densities and strong magnetic fields, a relatively large angular velocity. To answer the question of whether the rotation enhances or suppresses the formation of this phase, we first determine the effect of rotation on the energy dispersion relation of a fermionic system in the presence of a constant magnetic field and then focus on the thermodynamic potential of the model at low temperature T and finite chemical...

Predicting Travel Time Variability in Urban Arterials Based on Delay Variability at Signalized Intersections

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mortazavi, Abolfazl (Author) ; Nasiri, Habibollah (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Raising number of vehicles and increasing tendency of people to possess their own cars have posed a lot of expenses on users. One of the most significant of them is the time it takes to travel between origin and destination. Several researches have been conducted so far in order to evenly distribute travel times among transportation network users. A variable that has been neglected in many of these studies is travel time variability. Users, obviously, need to know not only the travel time, but also the probability of varying this time. In this research, an analytical model has been developed on a geometrical basis that includes both traffic conditions and intersection characteristics to...

In this thesis, after simulation of the demethanizer towers, capacity enhancement is accomplished along with comparing the outlet stream with PFD data in terms of mass fractions, temperature and pressure. in addition, the hydrolic treat ment of towers is checked. This is continued till a problem occures in each of towers. In the bottleneck capacity , a solution and some changes have been offered. Thereafter...

Effects of MR Fluid on Low-Velocity Impact Response of Laminated Composite Structures

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mortazavi, Mostafa (Author) ; Zabihollah, Abolghassem (Supervisor)
    Abstract
During the past two decades, laminated composite structures have been used for many engineering applications, including aerospace, automotive, sport equipment and pressure vessels.
In spite of the excellent properties of strength to weight ratio, composite structures are vulnerable to failure when subjected to impact and vibration. It is well known that impact damage may severely degrade the strength and stability of laminated composite structures. For this reason the effect of impact on composites has been a subject of extensive research.
There are several ways of decreasing the vibration energy of structures, such as diminishing the source energy, designing structures...

    Abstract
In this paper we explore the existence of periodic solutions of a nonautonomous semi-ratio-dependent predator-prey dynamical system with functional responses on time scales. To illustrate the utility of this work, we should mention that, in our results this system with a large class of monotone functional responses, always has at least one periodic solution. For instance, this system with some celebrated functional responses such as Holling type-II (or Michaelis-Menten), Holling type-III, Ivlev, mx (Holling type I), sigmoidal [e.g., Real and mx2/((A + x)(B +x))] and some other monotone functions, has always at least one ω-periodic solution. Besides, for some well-known functional responses...

Feyerabend’s Point of View on Scientific Progress

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yazdani, Homa (Author) ; Taghavi, Mostafa (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Feyarabend’s philosophy of science is against method and rule such that he believes that “anything goes”. However, he sometimes applies the term “progress”. Reviewing his publications shows that from his point of view, progress is qualitative and relative. So, unlike other philosophers of science Feyarabend ignores the clarification of the concept; subsequently, his applications of the term “progress” are somewhat ambiguous. However, by studying his philosophy, one may realize what should be done to achieve progress in any sense. The affirmative aspect of Feyerabend’s philosophy, while highlights the social and ethical elements, considering his humanitarian outlook as well as his special...
