Investigating and Explaining Dr. Golshani’s Points of View about Religious Science

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mosavi, Zahra (Author) ; Hassani, Hamid Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Entrance of secular science to Muslim societies has made them face a duality. That is because, on the one hand, they like to preserve their religious values; and on the other, prevalence of secular ideas prevents people from being committed to such values. Therefore, some Islamic scholars proposed religious science as opposed to Western secular science as a remedy to this crisis In case of religious science, explanatory model has the highest position, but disagreement over how to combine experimental and religious characteristics has led to different models in this area. One of the explanatory models of religious knowledge is that of Doctor Mehdi Golshani which has received due attention at...

Re-Creation of Lost Gas Layer on Superhydrophobic Surfaces with Micro/Nanostructures

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Jabari Farokhi, Salar (Author) ; Mosavi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Due to their unique characteristics, such as drag reduction, anti-fouling, and enhancing condensation, hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted a lot of attention in the past decades. Since approximately 4% of the fossil fuel usage and 14-19% of the air pollution (including greenhouse gases, sulfur, and so forth) are attributed to naval activities, and the dominant form of drag on vessels is friction, drag reduction will not only reduce the cost and usage of fossil fuels, but it will also have numerous environmental benefits

    2010
    Abstract
The increase of pollution and the expansion of industrial, agricultural wastewater and urban runoff discharges in water sources have intensified the concentration of water pollutants. Considering that in Iran as in other countries the major part of drinking water is obtained from surface waters and due to the importance of disinfection, chlorination is doubtlessly the optimum and most common water treatment method used. However this method produces chlorination by-products (CBPs). Trihalomethanes(THMs) and Haloaceticacids (HAAs) are the main and most important groups of disinfection by-products (DBPs). Separation of THMs has gained a lot of breakthroughs since a lot of time elapses from its...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bakhtiari, Fatemeh (Author) ; Mosavi, Abbas (Supervisor) ; Shojaei, Akbar (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In this work nanocomposite CNT/polysulfone and CNT/polyethersulfone membranes for membrane contactor application in gas separation were fabricated. The two types of CNTs used for chemical and physical separation of H2S from a mixture of CH4 an H2S, had the outer diameter of 20-30nm and 50-100nm. One of the greatest concerns about using membrane contactors for gas separation applications is the wetting of membranes which consequently leads to decrease in separation performance. The aim of this study is to enhance the hydrophobicity of membranes by mixing hydrophobic carbon nanotubes in the polymeric matrix. The effect of factors like type of the polymer, diameter of the carbon nanotube and...

    Abstract
External radiotherapy is a major method of treating cancer. In this method, penetrating rays such as X-rays, alpha, beta and gamma emitted from the device are used to treat cancer. In order to emitting rays only to the cancer cells, masks are used to stabilize the patient's body in the right position during the radiotherapy, so that the rays are not emitted to the healthy tissues of the patient's body. In this dissertation, first, different methods of making radiotherapy masks are examined. Next, polycaprolactone is proposed as the main material for making the mask. Due to its low tensile strength, this material alone is not suitable for the intended use. Therefore, the material was cured...

Blind Universal Steganalysis in Multiple Actor Paradigms and its Relation to Pixel-Cost

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Akhondi, Ali (Author) ; Gholampour, Iman (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Steganography is method for communicating confidential information through a non-trustworth in way which hides the existence of communication. For improving the security of steganography statistical detectability must decrease as such as possible. Despite the fact, that the quality of the relation between statistical detectability and amount of distortion engendered by embedding is still an open problem, problem of detectability reduces to problem of management of pixel embedding in order to minimization of distortion. As in wet paper coding methods, an optimum (or approximately optimum) algorithm proportioned to Pixel-cost has been offered, the current problem of steganography is to find...
