    Evaluation of Mechanical and Structural Properties of Titanium Bone Scaffolds

    Abstract
    Interconnected–pore titanium scaffolds were fabricated by sintering of compressed mixture of TiH1.924 and urea or NaCl. Urea was removed by evaporation during sintering and NaCl was removed with water. TiH1.924 was used to enhance gas evolution for perpetuation of foam formation. Morphological studies of the spacer-removed scaffolds showed that the spacer shapes were replicated to the pores. Minimization of stress concentration at walls of the pores was, hence, helped by utilization of the spacers with spherical particles. The scaffolds having relative densities of 0.34 to 0.65 consisted pores of 200 to 600 μm diameter, compression strengths of 51 to 260 MPa, Young’s modulus of 6.3 to 22.66...

    In this project we have worked on the new architecture of the auction based resource scheduling, from the bidders point of view. The performance of different bidding strategies for the resources which participate in reverse auction system has been investigated; our main parameter for evaluating different bidding strategies is the amount of the profit gained by resources which follow such strategies. The main historical bidding strategies are created based on two famous predictors ES and AUTO-REGRESSION. In addition a game theory approach has been proposed.     In this paper, seller-buyer supply chain coordination with general side-payment contracts is introduced to gain the maximum possible chain profit. In our model, the logistics costs for both buyer and seller are considered and the final demand is also supposed to be a decreasing function of the retail price. Since parties aim to maximize their individual profits, the contractual parameters are set in a way that these decisions become aligned with system optimal decisions. Therefore, a side payment contract is suggested in our model to assign the chain surplus profit to the chain members such that they have no intention to leave the coalition.     Design and Hardware Implementation of Optical Character Recognition

    Abstract
    The objective of OCR systems is to retrieve machine-encoded text from a raster image. Despite the abundance of powerful OCR algorithms for English, there are not many for Farsi. Our proposed algorithm is comprised of pre-processing, line detection, sub-word detection and segmentation, feature extraction and classification. Furthermore, hardware implementation and acceleration of this system on a GPGPU is presented. This algorithm was tested on 5 fonts including Titr, Lotus,Yekan, Koodak and Nazanin and an average accuracy above 90% was achieved

    Photonic Crystal Cavity Quantum Optic in the Very Strong Coupling Regime

    Abstract
    First, we peruse the intraction between a quantized light and a two level atom which has been described by Janes-Cummings-Paul Hamiltonian. By solving Heisenberg equations in Fourier space and describing electric field by a generalized-transverse Green function, we obtain spectral density for a quantum dot which is in the strong coupling to a slab photonic crystal cavity. Afterward, by solving Shrouding equations precisely we demonstrate when quantum dot is in a very strong coupling to cavity, rotate wave approximation is not reliable anymore. It means that if coupling constant gets comparable to cavity mode frequency then the prevalent approach to solve this Hamiltonian will not be correct....

    Concentric steel braces and brace-type dampers are often applied to the upgrading of reinforced concrete frames subjected to lateral loads. These braces may develop High axial tension forces, and transferring them appropriately to the existing beam– Column joints is a key challenge.     A new and fast method for the preparation of aminals is reported from the reaction of aromatic aldehydes and secondary amines in the presence of potassium carbonate in high yields. The aminal can be converted to the corresponding iminum salt in reaction with acetyl chloride very easily and in very short time with high yield.     Axial-torsional vibrations of rotating pretwisted thin-walled composite box beams exhibiting primary and secondary warping are investigated. Considering the nonlinear strain-displacement relations, the coupled nonlinear axial-torsional equations of motion are derived using Hamilton's principle. Ignoring the axial inertia term leads to differential equation of motion in terms of elastic torsion in the case of axially immovable beams. Centrifugal load in the presence of material anisotropy and pretwist angle leads to an induced static torque.
