, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Hossein (Author) ; Sayyaadi, Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Magnetic shape memory alloys (MSMAs) are a new class of smart materials which exhibit properties such as large reversible strains and high performance frequencies. These unique properties, offer magnetic shape memory alloys as an option in applications such as actuators, sensors and energy harvesters. In this thesis, the equations of magnetic shape memory alloys by considering nonlinear terms of Von karaman in strain-displacement relations, is expanded by using the theory of thin plates in two dimensions which can be used for plate equations with any boundary conditions by applying elastic boundary. In order to verify the obtained model, the equations of motions of magnetic shape memory...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Mohammad Javad (Author) ; Mirian Hosseinabadi, Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, the user interface of web-based applications has become more and more complicated. Various technologies, architectures, and tools are being used to create a modern user interface. Users interact directly with the user interface, so its functionality has a significant impact on their satisfaction and it is required to design special test suites for the user interface. Furthermore, we need a method to measure the quality and effectiveness of test suites. An effective test suite is a test suite which is able to detect real faults. But this definition is ambiguous, and hence, not practical. A method called Mutation Testing solves this problem and instead of real faults, uses...

    Abstract
Partial discharges (PD) are recognized as the main cause of the inner insulation deterioration process in power transformers. Therefore, the optimum inner insulation design is one of the challenges a transformer designer is faced with. Transformer strength, especially during transient conditions, is a criterion for transformer insulation designers. This challenge has made designers initiate and employ other types of winding, for example, rather than ordinary layer and disc windings employ the multiple-α windings. Multiple-α windings have a more complicated structure and are comprised of various parts with different physical structures and electrical characteristics. Typical partial discharge...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Mojtaba (Author) ; Rastegar, Arash (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Einstein's general theory of relativity is an admirable successful and unifier geometrical modeling among concepts of space, time and gravity. This theory along with special theory of relativity made a massive change in our physical view and this, especially in its historical context, has deep and interesting consequences in man's philosophical viewpoint which can be studied. Some parts of this thesis relates to these consequences. Some of these interesting consequences may be hidden by computional or mathematical viewpoint and often these equations do not contain enough intuition. in one part, we provide a formulizatin of Einstein's equaion that is intuitional which can be translated in...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Koorosh (Author) ; Tabatabaee, Nader (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Bitumen ageing is one of the principal factors causing the deterioration of asphalt pavements. Ageing is a complex process that is affected by different parameters. With the rapid growth of modified binders in road paving applications over the past twodecades, it is important to study the ageing properties of these binders. A number of laboratory methods are used tosimulatethe bitumenageing at various stages of the production and service of hot mix asphalt.Recent studies have shown that Superpave testing protocol does not fully address the ageing of modified binders. To study the ageing properties of modified binders, three different types of binder modifiers, plastomer, elastomer, and ground...

    2012
    Abstract
This paper focuses on the flow shop sequence dependent group scheduling (FSDGS) problem with minimisation of total completion time as the criterion (Fm|f mls, prmu, S plk|ΣC j). The research problem is formulated in form of two different mixed integer linear programming (MILP) models. Comparing with the latest MILP model for the proposed problem in the literature, the complexity size of the proposed models are significantly reduced. One of the proposed mathematical models is so effective that even medium-sized instances (problems up to 60 jobs in all groups) are solved to optimality in a reasonable amount of time. Moreover, a metaheuristic hybridising genetic and simulated annealing...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Mahdi (Author) ; Mahsuli, Mojtaba (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study, community resilience after a disaster is optimally enhanced for interdependent infrastructures through prioritization of recovery operations considering limited resources. Optimal enhancement of community resilience can be performed at two levels: Pre-disaster and Post-disaster. In the pre-disaster level, resilience enhancement is achieved through optimization of long-term decision making that includes optimized allocation of resources to retrofit of buildings. However, in the post-disaster response and recovery period, allocating resources to retrofit or backup systems is infeasible. Therefore, in the post-disaster level considered in this study, resilience enhancement is...

    Abstract
Herein, we have successfully fabricated NiVS/NiCuP nanostructures on Cu wire as a fiber electrode for high performance FSMSCs applications. The 3D NiCuP dendritic film was firstly deposited on Cu wire through the electrodeposition method, which not only act as a scaffold for deposition of the electroactive materials (NiV-LDH and NiV-S), but also served as a micro-porous current collector, supplied extra capacitances. Then, NiV-LDH nanosheets grown on 3D NiCuP film were obtained using a hydrothermal method. The sulfidation of NiV-LDH is carried out through an ion-exchange reaction of OH– with S2– to obtain NiVS, which maintains an ultrathin and porous structure, improves the electrical...

In this method, the source of radiation is located near or inside the tumor, and its advantage is to achieve a lower dose ratio of healthy tissue to the tumor is lower compared to teletherapy. One of the challenges in brachytherapy is to prescribe the appropriate treatment plan for the patient, so that the maximum dose of sources reaches the...

Adversarial Attacks on Deep Neural Networks

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Hanieh (Author) ; Kasaei, Shohreh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The remarkable progress of deep neural networks in recent years has led to their entry into the industry and their use in the real world. However, one of the most important and basic issues that threaten the security of these networks is attacks. The attacks that deliberately manipulate input data cause vulnerabilities and misclassify networks. Due to the wide range of ways in which attacks can perturb input data, identifying their types is considered a vital part of ensuring a robust network. The inability of deep networks to generalize to unseen data is also an important limitation. This thesis presents a 2D adversarial attack and a 3D defense in this regard. In 2D attacks, the type of...

In this thesis the framework is extended with telecommunication infrastructure models. This infrastructure is modeled by developing a library of probabilistic models to predict damage to network...

Structural Design of a Launch Vehicle with Reusable First Stage

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hassan Jamaklu (Author) ; Haddadpour, Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Aerodynamics loads and aeroheating during reentry, are one of the challenging issues in designing One of the main challenges in the design and application of reusable spacecrafts is the aerodynamic and thermal loads acting on their structures during reentry into the atmosphere. For this reason, all the concepts/prototypes presented in the 20th century were either not fully reusable, or were partially canceled, or did not have economic justification. In this report, the aerodynamic loads on the first stage of a launch vehicle during the launch and return phases have been investigated. Due to the fact that the main part of the first stage of the vehicle includes fuel and oxidizer tanks, the...

    Abstract
Partial discharges are well known as a source for insulation degradation in power transformers. A hybrid transformer model is introduced to simulate the transformer winding transient response. Transformer structural data is used to determine the hybrid model parameters. Calculations of the hybrid transient model parameters are based on the parameters of the lumped parameter equivalent transformer model and electromagnetic rules. Modern computation techniques and optimizations are employed beside this model for PD location using the multi conductor transmission line model and also to analyze its propagation aimed at achieving (i) more reliable simulation results (ii) less computational time...

    Abstract
Power transformer inner insulation system is a very critical component. Its degradation may pose apparatus to fail while in service. On the other hand, experimental experiences prove that partial discharges are a major source of insulation failure in power transformers. If the deterioration of the insulation system caused by PD activity can be detected at an early stage, preventive maintenance measures may be taken. Because of the complex structure of the transformer, accurate PD location is difficult and is one of the challenges power utilities are faced with. This problem comes to be vital in open access systems. In this paper a theory for locating partial discharge and its propagation...
