    A Bernoulli Mixture Model (BMM) is a finite mixture of random binary vectors with independent dimensions. The problem of clustering BMM data arises in a variety of real-world applications, ranging from population genetics to activity analysis in social networks. In this paper, we analyze the clusterability of BMMs from a theoretical perspective, when the number of clusters is unknown.     One of the major issues related to parallel kinematic machine tools (PKMs) is their structural dependency on their configuration. In this paper, the machine configuration effect on its stability is investigated for the case of a Hexaglide machine tool. An FEM model of the Hexaglide machine tool is developed. The frequency response function (FRF) at the tool tip is obtained by a modal analysis. The numerical results are validated through comparison with those of an experimental modal test. A glass bead pack porous medium was used to perform free fall gravity drainage experiments.     In this study, we have investigated the potential of a native bacterial strain isolated from an Iranian oil field for the production of biosurfactant. The bacterium was identified to be Bacillus mycoides by biochemical tests and 16S ribotyping.     This paper investigates the effects of various forecasting methods, such as moving average (MA), exponential smoothing (ES) and linear regression (LR) on the bullwhip effect in a four-echelon supply chain. In order to compare the effectiveness of these forecasting methods, a bullwhip effect measure is utilized for two cases: one where the demand is non-trended and one where it has an increasing trend.     Torsional buckling of carbon nanopeapods (carbon nanotubes filled with fullerenes) is studied using a continuum-based multi-layered shell model. The model takes into account non-bonded van der Waals interactions between nested fullerenes and the innermost layer of host nanotube.     The stability of single-walled carbon nanopeapods under hydrostatic pressure is investigated using a continuum-based elastic shell model. The model incorporates nonbonded van der Waals interactions between the nested fullerenes and the host carbon nanotube.     We study the sample complexity of learning a high-dimensional simplex from a set of points uniformly sampled from its interior. Learning of simplices is a long studied problem in computer science and has applications in computational biology and remote sensing, mostly under the name of “spectral unmixing.” We theoretically show that a sufficient sample complexity for reliable learning of a K-dimensional simplex up to a total-variation error of ε is O(Kε2 log Kε ), which yields a substantial improvement over existing bounds.     A web attack is an attack against a web server through the HTTP Protocol. By analyzing known web attacks, we find out that each one has its own behavior. Vestiges of their behavior could be detected in non-body parts of the HTTP Protocol. Such information can be used to verify web alerts generated by Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and Web Intrusion Detection Systems (Web IDSs).
