Abstract
Several target position finding methods are proposed in various papers mainly regarding sensor networks. However, the problem of position finding in passive radar systems is somewhat different from the general case of sensor networks. Generally, in a passive radar system, there are few receivers located at short distances when compared with the it distance from the target. In this case, a problem known as geometric dilution of precision (GDP) occurs, which considerably increases the error of many proposed methods. Binary integrators are an important part of the receiver in many operating radar systems. The optimisation of a binary integrator is not a simple task, because it requires the solution of a (k×n)-dimensional nonlinear optimisation problem, where n is the number of integrated bits (or the number of sensors in a distributed radar or sensor network) and k is the number of the design parameters of the single-pulse detector. Abstract
This paper considers the problem of constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection of radar targets using multiple observations. In the Gaussian clutter scenario, the structure of the optimum (uniformly most powerful) CFAR detector is rather simple, but when the clutter is heavy-tailed, that is non-Gaussian distributed, the derivation of the optimal detector becomes infeasible. For this latter relevant case, a new CFAR algorithm is porposed based on goodness-of-fit (GoF) tests. Abstract
Ti–6Al–4V and AISI 304 stainless steel were joined by diffusion brazing with a Cu interlayer at 900 °C for different bonding times. The influence of the bonding time on the joint width, microstructure, microhardness and shear strength was studied. Interfacial characterizations and the identification of phases were done by scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The results revealed that by increasing the bonding time, the thickness of the joint was first increased and then decreased. The main focus of this paper is on the estimation of target motion parameters using bearing measurements. Here, based on a linearization of measurements, a recursive least squares (RLS) solution is developed. The performance of the proposed method is compared to PLE which uses the same approach in measurement linearization. Order statistic (OS) CFAR processor is a powerful detector, but similar to many other CFAR detectors, suffers from clutter edge as well as interfering targets. To overcome these problems, two derivations of this detector have been developed. These are order statistic greatest of (OSGO) and order statistic smallest of (OSSO) CFAR processors. The cost, paid for this improvement, is a considerable decrease in detection probability for homogenous Weibull clutter. This study investigated the effect of gilsonite and Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) as asphalt binder modifiers on the physical and rheological properties of asphalt binders. For this, binder tests such as penetration test, softening point, rotational viscosity (RV), Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR), and Bending Beam Rheometer (BBR) were conducted on the neat and modified binders. Abstract
In the past decade, assays that profile different aspects of the epigenome have grown exponentially in number and variation. However, standard guidelines for researchers to choose between available tools depending on their needs are lacking. Here, we introduce a comprehensive collection of the most commonly used bulk and single-cell epigenomic assays and compare and contrast their strengths and weaknesses. Any clutter edge in the reference window of a radar CFAR detection, produces an error in the clutter power estimation which reduces the detectability of the cell under test (CUT). In processors such as OS-CFAR, the designers have attempted to improve the detection performance, nevertheless, none of these processors applies an intelligent method of clutter edge recognition and destroyer data elimination. Carbon nanoropes (CNRs) are of interest for a wide variety of nanotechnological applications. Since little attention has been paid to mechanical properties of CNRs, their axial elastic modulus is explored herein. Molecular dynamics (MDs) simulations are adopted for analysis of Young's modulus of CNRs. It is also shown that increase in the initial helical angle decreases Young's modulus; however, by increase in the number of CNTs and strands, different influence on Young's modulus emerges. In this study, heat oil conversion experiments using steam and formic acid as a hydrogen carrier be carried out in a batch reactor at T = 380 degrees of Celsius and P = 165 bar. Material balance and product distribution were calculated after the process. Properties of crude oil before and after thermal conversion, including viscosity, API gravity, SARA measurement, and elemental analysis, were analyzed. This paper proposes using sodium-cooled fast reactor technologies for use in hydrogen vapor methane (SMR) modification. Using three independent energy rings in the Russian BN-600 fast reactor, steam is generated in one of the steam-generating cycles with a pressure of 13.1 MPa and a temperature of 505 °C. The reactor's second energy cycles can increase the gas-steam mixture's temperature to the required amount for efficient correction. A novel recognition method for selective determination of the hyoscine N-Butyl bromide (HBB), an antispasmodic agent for smooth muscles, was devised using extended gate field-effect transistor (EG-FET) as transducing unit. For this purpose a PVC membrane, containing hyoscine n-butyl-tetraphenyl borate ion-pair as recognition component, was coated on Ag/AgCl wire, which was connected to the extended metal gate. In optimal conditions, the linear range for HBB was 10-8-10-5 molL−1 with limit of detection 1.7×10-9 molL-1.
