    Heading angle Observability Enhancement in Visual Inertial Navigation via addition of Magnetometer for GPS Denied Environment

    Abstract
    In this thesis, a method is presented for improving the observability of the heading angle in a UAV when using the Visual-Inertial navigation algorithm MSCKF by adding a magnetometer sensor. The proposed algorithm serves as a complementary extension to the primary algorithm, and efforts have been made to seamlessly integrate the magnetometer sensor into the primary algorithm to allow for easy modifications to the sensor's characteristics and to observe the resulting output in system simulations. Improving the observability of the heading angle will lead to an enhancement in the overall system state estimation. To achieve this, a new update stage is added to the existing algorithm....

    The effect of surface and interface elasticity in the analysis of the Saint-Venant torsion problem of an eccentrically two-phase fcc circular nanorod is considered; description of the behavior of such a small structure via usual classical theories cease to hold. In this work, the problem is formulated in the context of the surface/interface elasticity. For a rigorous solution of the proposed problem, conformal mapping with a Laurent series expansion are employed together.     Abstract

    Laminar forced convection flow through a channel partially filled with a porous material was numerically studied in this thesis. The Navier-Stokes and Brinkman-Forchheimer equations were used to model the fluid flow in the free and porous regions, respectively. Coupling of the pressure and velocity fields was resolved using the SIMPLEC algorithm. The local thermal equilibrium was adopted in the energy equation.
