This work presents a simulation framework to investigate the rigorous transient behavior of integrated systems comprising natural gas and power transmission networks, and a chemical plant whose feedstock is natural gas. Cable stayed bridges have been used extensively in recent years for long span bridges up to 1000m. Although seismic behavior of these bridges has been researched in the last decade, however, the effect of vertical component of earthquake on cable-stayed bridges has not been studied before. In this thesis, the geometric nonlinear static analyses on dead loads followed by linear direct integration dynamic analyses have been used to study this effect. Fabrication and characterization of different surface charged cellulose electrospun scaffolds including cellulose acetate (CA), cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and quaternary ammonium cationic cellulose (QACC) for biomedical applications have been reported in this research. Abstract
The inhibition effects of 3.5 bis (2-pyridil) 4-amino 1,2,4 triazole (NBTA) and 1-10 phenantrolin (PHEN), on corrosion of mild steel in acid solutions, (sulphuric acid and hydrochloric acid) were studied. The Tafel polarisation and ac impedance techniques were employed. Results obtained reveal that both compounds are relatively good inhibitors. The inhibition efficiencies of NBTA are higher in hydrochloric acid than in sulphuric acid. This has been attributed to the synergistic effect of chloride ions present in hydrochloric acid. In this paper, a new fatigue lifetime prediction model is presented for the aluminium-silicon-magnesium alloy, A356.0. This model is based on the plastic strain energy density per cycle including two correction factors in order to consider the effect of the mean stress and the maximum temperature. The thermal term considers creep and oxidation damages in A356.0 alloy. To calibrate the model, isothermal fatigue and out-of-phase thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF) tests were conducted on the A356.0 alloy.
