Fuzzy-Based Routing in Irregular Mesh Noc

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rezaei Mayahi Nejad, Mehdi (Author) ; Sarbazi Azad, Hamid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In past decades, we have seen the rise of integration density in chips making it possible to design a whole system on a single chip. The previously designed interconnection architectures for multiprocessors systems cannot directly be applied in on-chip systems (especially when the number of processor elements increases) since they require a different type of a cost-performance trade-off. This is why the interconnection networks of systems-on-chip (SoC) are such a problem. Network-on-chip (NoC) was being proposed as a scalable and reusable communication platform for SoCs, which makes use of the network model to develop efficient on-chip communication infrastructures. The NoC has a layered and...

    Abstract
Since the development of data centers, power management (i.e., assessment, consumption and monitoring) has been a great challenge among scientists and engineers. By emerging a new generation of data center in the form of Hyperscale cloud data centers (HCDC), this concern has become more devastating than ever. The huge physical scale and the high level of system utilization through large power compensating system are some of the main characteristics of today's HCDC. The lack of appropriate power assessment from available power estimation models, prevents professionals from designing an accurate HCDCcapacity planning. In particular, during steady state workload processing at the high...

The Role of Position Space in Measurement Process in Bohmian Mechanics

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rezaei, Morteza (Author) ; Golshani, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the early time of the discovery of the quantum mechanics and some decades after that, various interpretations of quantum mechanics were proposed. However, many years after that, the “indetermenistic” perspective well-known for Copenhagen perspective which was proposed mostly by Bohr and his colleagues became the dominant attitude among physicists. But nearly two decades after the fixation point of the Copenhagen perspective, a new interpretation of quantum mechanics was proposed by Bohm which was nonlocal but deterministic and it could reproduce all the predictions of quantum mechanics.Bohm’s theory responded to the many theoretical and philosophical objections assumed to the Copenhagen...

Fast growing load in power systems associated with a large gap between heavy load and light load periods, generation scheduling and unit commitment (UC) problem has become a crucial issue in Scheduling time horizon. In a vertically integrated power system, unit commitment determines when to start-up or shut-down units and how to dispatch online generators over a given scheduling horizon in order to minimize the operating costs. Therefore main objective of this thesis is selected as unit commitment considering ramp rate, emission and line flow constraints. In this thesis four main works has been done: at first generation scheduling considering next hour is done which may yield to increase...

Intraday Stock Price and Insider Trading Pattern on the Tehran Stock Exchange

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Karimi, Amin (Author) ; Barakchian, Mehdi (Supervisor) ; Ebrahim Nejad, Ali (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
We study intraday patterns of trading volume, size, return, and volatility using the Tehran Stock Exchange high frequency data from 2008 to 2015. Intraday test results indicate that trade size and volume follow a J-shape behavior, whereas return and return volatility exhibit an L-shape pattern. To examine the behavior of informed traders as predicted by Barclay and Warner’s (1993), we examine midsize volume and find that it has a higher price impact compared to other trade sizes, which is consistent with the predictions of Barclay and Warner’s (1993) stealth-trading hypothesis. However, our findings do not support the intraday stealth trading pattern, as insiders prefer to trade in low and...

Presenting Practical Solutions to Mitigate the Effects of Fault Induced Delayed Voltage Recovery (FIDVR) Phenomenon on the Special Protection Systems of Power Network

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rezaei Moghadam, Salar (Author) ; Vakilian, Mehdi (Supervisor) ; Hajipoor, Ehsan (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
Fault Induced delayed voltage Recovery (FIDVR) is a phenomenon that occurs due to the behavior of motor loads such as A/C loads during voltage drop due to fault occurrence in the transmission, sub-transmission and distribution network. The electric motors used in air conditioning systems have a constant torque and inertia, and may therefore be stalled due to voltage drops And after the fault clearing, by dragging high reactive power and a current of 5 or 6 times the rated current, it leads to a continued voltage drop and a slowdown in the voltage recovery process. After a while, the thermal protection devices of the motors can cause significant load losses and subsequently increase the...
