Performance and Real Time Analysis of Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sabeghi, Milad (Author) ; Jahangir, Amir Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today road accidents take the lives of millions of people on a yearly basis through the world. Also, numerous attempts have been proposed to increase safety on the roads. Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is a subclass of mobile ad hoc networks (MANET); the main goal of which is to increase the safety and efficiency of road traffics and trips. However, like other networks, routing protocols are one of the most important parts of VANET. But, due to the unique characteristics of VANET (high mobility, short radio coverage area, etc.), the process of data dissemination is a more challenging task than other networks. Therefore, the need for efficient, reliable and safe routing protocols which can...

Improvement of Scalability in Model-Driven Engineering by Using Microservice Architecture

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sabeghi, Mohamad Reza (Author) ; Ramsin, Raman (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) methodologies play an important role in developing software systems. The main focus in MDE methodologies is on constructing and refining the models of the system based on meta-models of specific domains. MDE methodologies' proliferation in the software industry has been mainly due to their capabilities in automatic generation of code and other artifacts throughout the development process. This removes the need for constructing extra structures and repetitively performing certain practices during the development process. MDE methodologies also enable software solutions to be implemented based on various platforms and technologies. Moreover, they offer...

Does the short-term boost of renewable energies guarantee their stable long-term growth? Assessment of the dynamics of feed-in tariff policy

    , Article Renewable Energy ; Volume 159 , October , 2020 , Pages 1252-1268 Milad Mousavian, H ; Hamed Shakouri, G ; Mashayekhi, A. N ; Kazemi, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Feed-in tariff (FiT) is one of the most efficient ways that many governments throughout the world use to stimulate investment in renewable energies (REs) technology. For governments, financial management of the policy could be challenging as it needs a considerable amount of budget to support RE producers during the long remuneration period. In this paper, it has been illuminated that the early growth of REs capacity could be a temporary boost. And the socio-economic structure of the system will backlash the policy if some social mechanisms are not considered. Social tolerance for paying REs tax and potential investors’ trust emanated from budget-related mechanisms -which have rarely been...
