    , Article Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews ; Volume 5, Issue 3 , Mar , 2012 , Pages 403-407 ; 17518253 (ISSN) Ahmadi, S. J ; Hosseinpour, M ; Sadjadi, S ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The synthesis of diamino triphenyl methanes from aniline and aromatic aldehydes was conducted in near critical water and supercritical water. The reaction parameters, such as temperature, density, and reaction time, have been studied. Significant acceleration of the condensation reaction of aniline and aromatic aldehydes can be achieved by using high temperature water, especially near the critical point, in the absence of any acid catalysts. It has been demonstrated that high temperature water act effectively in the place of conventional acid catalysts

    Abstract
Gold nanorods (GNRs) can be used in various biomedical applications; however, very little is known about their in vivo tissue distribution by radiolabeling. Here, we have developed a rapid and simple method with high yield and without disturbing their optical properties for radiolabeling of gold rods with iodine-131 in order to track in vivo tissue uptake of GNRs after systemic administration by biodistribution analysis and γ-imaging. Following intravenous injection into rat, PEGylated GNRs have much longer blood circulation times. We have developed a rapid and simple method for radiolabeling of gold rods with iodine-131 in order to track in vivo tissue uptake of gold nanorods after systemic...

    Abstract
This paper studying the impact of strategic customer behavior on decentralized supply chain gains and decisions, which includes a supplier, and a monopoly firm as a retailer who sells a single product over a finite two periods of selling season. We consider three types of customers: myopic, strategic and low-value customers. The problem is formulated as a bi-level game where at the second level (e.g. horizontal game), the retailer determines his/her equilibrium pricing strategy in a non-cooperative simultaneous general game with strategic customers who choose equilibrium purchasing strategy to maximize their expected surplus. At the first level (e.g. vertical game), the supplier competes...

    Abstract
In this research a phase change micropump as a novel type of non-mechanical micropumps has been investigated. A one dimensional model has been developed to describe the pumping mechanism and assess the working characteristics of the micropump. Conservation of mass, momentum and energy have been employed to obtain an algebraic equation for the flow rate which depends on seven non-dimensional numbers. The governing equation has been solved to study the effect of various operating parameters on the micropump performance. To verify the analytical approach, an experimental set up has been constructed. The results show that the theoretical model is in reasonable agreement with the experimental...

    Abstract
Hydrothermal synthesis of CuO nanoparticles under near-critical and supercritical conditions was investigated from two different standpoints in the current study. The first standpoint was optimization of "yield", "purity", and "size of the nanoparticles" that were optimized at T = 500 °C, time = 2 h, [Cu(NO3)2] = 0.1 mol dm-3, and pH 3. This was achieved by undertaking an orthogonal experiment design methodology and performing different instrumental analyses, such as X-ray diffractometry, inductively coupled plasma spectrometry, and transmission electron microscopy, along with treatment of the data by analysis of variance (ANOVA). The second goal of the study was elucidation of the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Saghandali, Fardin (Author) ; Kazemeini, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Sadjadi, Samaheh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Three Keggin-type heteropolyacids were impregnated upon halloysite to produce heterogeneous acidic catalysts for synthesizing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF). Comparing the effectiveness of variously prepared catalysts in producing 5-HMF from fructose revealed the important role of halloysite in the final catalyst's acidic properties and performance in the reaction of halloysite-supported silicotungstic acid. Adjusting the reaction parameters for obtaining optimal results for the catalyst of choice was conducted via Response Surface Methodology and it was found that use of catalyst with 11 wt.% active ingredient at 125 °C in DMSO solvent yielded the target compound with 99.5% after 43 min....

    Abstract
Structural flexibility and soil nonlinearity have important effects on the rocking performance of structures. However, there are a limited number of studies taking into account the consequences of these attributes simultaneously. This paper presents a comprehensive parametric study performed to explore the key parameters affecting the behavior of deformable rocking systems lying on compliant soil. The results illustrated that an increase in pulse motion amplitude and pulse motion period typically increases residual settlement and rotational amplitude. Finally, the performance of a relatively stiff rocking system with two different slenderness ratios was correlated to well-known intensity...

    Abstract
This research explores the effectiveness of the use of stiff diaphragm walls next to a rocking foundation through numerical simulation. This improvement technique is used as a means to increase in subsoil peripheral confinement and reduce rocking-induced settlement. The numerical model was verified by the centrifuge test of rocking shallow foundations on clay under cyclic loading. A parametric study was conducted to explore the effect of three stiff wall shapes on the performance of a rocking system. The general conclusion of the parametric investigation is that the use of stiff diaphragm walls reduced the sinking-dominated settlement response of the rocking system. © 2019 Taylor & Francis...
