    Energy consumption is a major challenge in IoT devices, which was aimed to be improved by employing energy-efficient objective functions (OFs) in the structure of the RPL routing protocol. Meanwhile, the majority of the existing OFs mainly perform the parent selection based on the gathered information from the routing layer. Nevertheless, based on our investigations, there exists a series of transmission operations in the medium access control (MAC) layer, which significantly affects the energy consumption in IoT devices.     Governing equations of a Raman fiber distributed temperature sensor supported by a counter propagating pumped Raman amplifier are written in the form of integral equations. Forward pump and backward going probe are in the pulsed and continuous wave modes of operation respectively. It is shown that powers of the forward and backward Raman signals (stokes and anti stokes) approximately are the convolution of the input forward pump pulse and corresponding optical fiber impulse responses.     Shewhart charts are the most popular control charts that can be used to monitor variable quality characteristics in a production process. In this paper, a multi-objective model of the economic statistical design of the X-bar control chart is first proposed by incorporating the Taguchi loss function and the intangible external costs.     Abstract
    It was shown that the number of array elements must exceed the number of sources for subspace-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation. But this is not practical for a direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) wireless system, since the number of mobile users is very large. To remove the aforementioned restriction, a DOA estimator, employing the code-matched filters and parallel ESPRIT algorithms, is proposed. This algorithm does not use to search all angles such as MUSIC method. Besides, it is not necessary to use AIC and MDL criterion to estimate the number of sources in the proposed algorithm.     Magnesium nanopowder has attracted many interests in the recent years, which has a very difficult and costly synthesis process because of its high activity. In this work, magnesium nanoparticles stabilized with amorphous carbon (Mg–C nanoparticles) were synthesized by submerged arc discharge technique in kerosene. The arc discharge was generated between two electrodes of magnesium at the arc current of 1 A and arc voltage of 50 V. Mg–C nanoparticles were characterized by various techniques.
