Study on Cation and Fullerene Recognition by OxNx-Aza Crown Macrocyclic Ligands

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Safar koopayeh, Barzin (Author) ; Ghanbari, Bahram (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, a new group of N2O2–azacrown macrocyclic ligands with different macroring size from 15 to 18 was synthesized using one-pot facile and high yield reaction. The products were characterized applying FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies as well as elemental analysis. The single crystal structure of 18-membered macrocyclic ligand was also determined by x-ray crystallography. The crystallographic data showed such strong inter-molecular hydrogen bonding which excluded their nitrogen-donor groups, and initial investigation with UV-Vis spectroscopy shows no intraction with [60]fullerene, despite of presence of these interacrtions in their parent macrocycles. The result of Job’s...

Proof Theory and Semantics of U Logic

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Barzin, Erfan (Author) ; Arⅾeshir, Ⅿohaⅿⅿaⅾ (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, we want to discuss about some aspects of semantics and proof theory of U logic. This logic was introduced by Ardehsir and Vaezian in 2012. U Logic was introduced with intention of unifying Sambin Basic Logic(Sambin in 1997) and Visser Basic Logic(Visser in 1981). These two basic logics are two of the most significant basic logics that were introduced. This thesis begins with addressing U logic proof system. Subsequently, we introduce three algebraic semantics for this logic. The first one was introduced by Girard for Linear logic. The second one was introduced by Sambin for Sambin Basic Logic. Then we introduce the third one specially for U logic. In fact, we have proof...

A Comparative Study of the Redox Processes of Iodide Ion on Pt, C and Carbon-Polyorthoaminophenol

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Safar Kolachaee, Leila (Author) ; Gobal, Feridon (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study a systematic effort was made to study and compare electrochemical oxidation behavior of iodide on Pt, carbon and carbon supported polyorthoaminophenol film electrodes. All of the electrochemical experiments were performed in acidic, basic and nuteral aqueous solutions and the applied electrochemical techniques included Chronoamperometry (CA) and Cyclic voltammetry (CV). Effects of concentration and scan rate of potential on the cyclic voltammetry of KI was studied at the previously mentioned electrodes. Current-time and log current-potential curves were analyezed quantitavely in order to determine kinetic parameters. Carbon supported polyorthoaminophenol electrode was prepared...
