Numerical Modelling of Buried Pipelines Reinforcement in Slopes under Dynamic Loads Based on Physical Model Tests
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Jafarzadeh, Fardin (Supervisor)
Abstract
Behavior and retrofit methods of buried pipes in slope under dynamics loading are investigated in FLAC 2D. Hysteretic damping is used to represent of soil damping and compared with Rayleigh damping model. Mohr-coloumb and elasto-plastic model are adopted for soil and pipe constitutive model respectively. Young modulus is defined as function of stress level and shear strain. Displacements and accelerations of numerical model was compared with the physical model on the shaking table tests. Influence of different parameters like young modulus, reference shear strain and dilation angel is investigated. Interaction model between soil and pipe is considered as elasto-plastic with separation and...
Optimizing the Aquaculture Net Washer's Washing System
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Khorasanchi, Mahdi (Supervisor) ; Mehdigholi, Hamid (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this project, experimental investigation and optimal design of the aquaculture netwasher process for biofouling removal have been studied. In the first phase, various types of marine biological deposits and their characteristics were examined, and the most prevalent type with the highest adhesion was selected for the net. In the second phase, different cleaning methods were evaluated, and the most efficient method considering cost, equipment, and speed was chosen. Following an assessment of the challenges, advantages, and disadvantages of the mentioned methods, a rotational disk system was selected as the preferred system due to its cost-effectiveness, cleaning speed, reduced damage to...

Abstract
Chronic, non-healing wounds place a significant burden on patients and healthcare systems, resulting in impaired mobility, limb amputation, or even death. Chronic wounds result from a disruption in the highly orchestrated cascade of events involved in wound closure. Significant advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic wounds have resulted in the development of drugs designed to target different aspects of the impaired processes. However, the hostility of the wound environment rich in degradative enzymes and its elevated pH, combined with differences in the time scales of different physiological processes involved in tissue regeneration require the use of effective drug...
