Abstract
I-131 isotope is one of the most significant radio medicines for treatments of the thyroid cancer and nuclear tomography of thyroid. As for purification of this radioisotope several methods have been developed among which adsorption-desorption on metallic copper is the most promising. The current study is aimed at elaboration of the kinetics behavior of the different types of metallic copper for adsorption of iodine vapor. The used copper samples included plain and silica-supported Cu nanoparticles as well as micronized copper. The silica-supported Cu nanoparticles were prepared by impregnation of highly porous silica (≈500 m2/g) in Cu(NO3)2 solution, heating of the solution to above...
Institutional Analysis on Impediments over Fuel Consumption Reduction at Iran's Transportation Niches
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Maleki, Abbas (Supervisor)
Abstract
The transportation sector is the largest oil consumer sector in the world. Iran is no exception to this, and the transportation sector, especially road transport, has a large share of oil and energy consumption in Iran. Diesel supply security in The road transport system has been implemented but it has not been properly managed for gasoline, as the country has been an importer of gasoline for many years and large cities suffering the pollution caused by light duty vehicles. Analyze the transportion of light duty vehicle by the game theory method can detect the barriers to reducing fuel consumption. For this purpose, the main Actors affecting the transport of light duty vehicles - people,...
Toroidal Transformer Life Estimation Under Non-Sinusoidal Supply
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Oraee Mirzamani, Hashem (Supervisor)
Abstract
Due to increase in nonlinear loads in today’s applications, the percent of harmonic content has been increased. Transformers are one of the electrical system components that are subjected to these harmonics. The failure of such equipment is an important consideration. Such failure is because of the hotspot temperature rises over the normal temperature withstanding of internal insulation. The increments of hotspot temperature can decrease the transformer insulation life. Totally, because of the presence of many parameters, precise investigation of loss of life is very difficult. Hence, the only meaning of loss of life in this project is the loss of insulation life under heat stresses....

Abstract
In this paper, harmonic sources in a BDFM are studied, and a method for specifying rotor and stator space harmonic components is established. A criterion for evaluating different rotor designs is introduced, based on space harmonics. Then the equivalent space and time harmonic circuits are obtained, using basic equivalent circuit. Finally, the effects of these harmonics on the torque-speed characteristic are studied

Abstract
The transportation sector is one of the sustainable development wheels that requires a lot of energy to operate, therefore it is concerned as one of the main factors in greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. In Iran, like rest of the world, the light-duty vehicles are the effective factors in the pollution of the metropolitan cities. Although the management of their fuel consumption is a vital action in decreasing the cost and air pollution, that's inextricable link with the public welfare and the economy of the car manufacturers creates barriers. An accurate analysis concerning the barriers to reducing the fuel consumption can be obtained by using the game theory method in the...

Abstract
In this paper, a new structure for the rotor of the Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) is introduced to reduce the machine's torque ripple. The ripple has a considerable effect on the machine start up. At the first section of the paper, analytical expressions for the air gap permeance distribution, the air gap MMF distribution, cogging torque and back EMF are presented. Then, the effects of skewing the rotor loops are analyzed. Finally, the relation between non-skewed quantities and their values in skewed coordinate are introduced

Abstract
The application of the brushless doubly-fed machine (BDFM) is in wind power generation in harsh conditions, where reliability is important. In this paper, eddy current losses in a BDFM in four categories: a) the rotor classic eddy current losses, b) stator classic eddy current losses, c) rotor excessive eddy current losses, and d) stator excessive eddy current losses, are calculated for single frequency of the rotor and double frequency of the stator magnetic fields

Abstract
The cause of about 10% of faults in induction machines is related to the rotor part. In this paper, an analytical method for general modeling of brushless doubly-fed machines (BDFMs) with broken rotor loops and end ring is presented. The approach is based on calculation of resistance and inductance matrices through the winding function of the machine, so the assumption of sinusoidal MMF is not needed. It is also shown that a fault in a loop can lead to faults in other parts of the rotor. To validate the method a simulation in MATLAB/Simulink is performed based on the D180-frame prototype BDFM
