    Micro Arc Oxidation Coating on Magnesium Alloy AZ31 and Study its CorrosionBehavior in Physiological Solution

    Abstract
    Magnesium and its alloys have been used as biodegradable implements in recent years. However Magnesium implements may corrode in the body before the natural healing process of the damaged tissue. MAO process was studied in order to reduce primary corrosion of Magnesium alloy in Simulated Body Fluid (SBF). MAO coating was created on AZ31 alloy in a nontoxic alkaline-silicate solution at DC current densities of 5, 10, 15 and 20 mA/cm2 for 30 minutes and the current was in form of 20-10-5 mA/cm2 steps that each were applied for 10 minutes.     Palladium nanoparticles supported on polyoxometalate as a solid carrier were successfully prepared and evaluated as a heterogeneous nanocatalyst for the Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reactions. This supported catalyst was characterized by a set of techniques, including XRD, chemical analysis (ICP-OES), IR spectroscopy, TEM and FE-SEM analyses.     Vanadium supported on spinel cobalt ferrite nanoparticles was synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis and transmission electron microscopy.     Aperiodic perforated graphene layers were synthesized and used in fabrication of optical nanocavity absorbers. Chemical vapor deposition-grown graphene (Gr) layers were exposed to oxygen plasma etching to obtain the perforated graphene (pGr). The fabricated pGr/SiO2 (68 nm)/Ag (150 nm) nanocavity could present significant higher optical absorption, especially at around 530 nm wavelength region, as compared to a benchmark Gr/SiO2 (68 nm)/Ag (150 nm) sample.     A magnetic vanadium oxide nanoparticles supported on spinel copper ferrite (CuFe2O4–VOx) are prepared, characterized, and examined for the peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation to degrade Rhodamine B (RhB) in water solution. Interestingly, the results show that despite the inability of mixture of copper ferrite and vanadium oxides nanoparticles to the effective RhB decomposition, the prepared catalyst exhibits an excellent catalytic ability toward RhB oxidation.     In this study, polycaprolactone (PCL) nanoparticles were effectively synthesized as novel drug delivery systems by the electrospray method. Curcumin (Cur) was selected as the model drug with further enhanced stability of its composition with gluten (GLU). The physical-chemical characterization, including FTIR, UV-vis, and thermal analysis of PCL@Cur-GLU nanocapsules, are explored. The in vitro release profiles described by Ritger–Peppas models were also investigated, showing sustained release for 15 h after a burst release within the first five hours. © 2022 by the authors

The application of artificial neural network (ANN) models to simulate water quality parameters is cost-effective, quick, and reliable.     The flying agility demonstrated by dragonflies is accomplished by means of complex aerodynamic forces produced by flapping their four wings arranged in a tandem configuration. The current study presents a novel tandem flapping wing mechanism for a biomimetic air vehicle that was designed and manufactured to experimentally investigate the aerodynamic forces. By optimizing the configuration and using spatial network analysis, it is shown that the designed structure can flap the wings in a linear up–down stroke motion and is capable of maintaining good consistency and aerodynamic performance.     In this paper, we consider a dual-sourcing model with constant demand and stochastic lead times. Two suppliers may be different in terms of purchasing prices and lead-time parameters. The ordering takes place when the inventory level depletes to a reorder level, and the order is split among two suppliers. Unlike previous works in the order splitting literature, the supply lead time between vendor and buyer as well as unit purchasing prices is considered to be order quantity dependent.
