Application of [M(en)3]3[Fe(ox)3]2 (M = Zn, Cd, Ni) complexes as new precursor for the synthesis of ferrite micro/nanostructures

    , Article Advanced Powder Technology ; Volume 27, Issue 2 , 2016 , Pages 388-394 ; 09218831 (ISSN) Hashemi, M ; Mohandes, F ; Salavati Niasari, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This work presents solid-state thermal decomposition synthesis of transition metal ferrites (MFe2O4, M = Zn, Ni, Cd). In this method, binary complexes of [Zn(en)3]3[Fe(ox)3]2, [Cd(en)3]3[Fe(ox)3]2 and [Ni(en)3]3[Fe(ox)3]2 (where en = ethylenediamine and ox = oxalate) are introduced as new single-source precursors to fabricate ZnFe2O4, CdFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 micro/nanostructures, respectively. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) patterns show that pure CdFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 are formed by thermal decomposition of the single-source precursors at 800°C. When thermal decomposition of [Zn(en)3]3[Fe(ox)3]2 complex is carried out at 700 and 800°C, the final products are composed of ZnFe2O4 and metal oxides....

    Abstract
Although the application of nonlinear tools including recurrence quantification analysis (RQA) has increasingly grown in the recent years especially in balance-disordered populations, there have been few studies which determine their measurement properties. Therefore, a methodological study was performed to estimate the intersession and intrasession reliability of some dynamic features provided by RQA for nonlinear analysis of center of pressure (COP) signals recorded during quiet standing in a sample of patients with musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) including low back pain (LBP), anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and functional ankle instability (FAI). The subjects completed postural...

An ant based rate allocation algorithm for media streaming in peer to peer networks

    Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for rate allocation in multiple-source media streaming peer to peer networks. Our algorithm is based on ant-colony optimization and capable of handling network changes which occur quite often in unstructured P2P networks. The suggested algorithm does not need any information about the topology of the network. Moreover, it could get over uncertainties in network state information, particularly the rate of media provider nodes that could happen due to lack of accurate measurements. We show that our algorithm will reach the maximum achievable rate of the network quite fast and with relatively little overhead. In our simulations, we have demonstrated...

A novel approach for providing QoS with network coding

    , Article 2008 International Symposium on Telecommunications, IST 2008, Tehran, 27 August 2008 through 28 August 2008 ; October , 2008 , Pages 446-451 ; 9781424427512 (ISBN) Salavati, A. H ; Khalaj, B. H ; Aref, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, we present a decentralized algorithm that computes minimum cost QoS flow subgraphs in network coded multicast networks. These subgraphs are minimum cost solutions that also satisfy user-specified QoS constraints, specifically handling elastic rate and delay demands. Although earlier network coding algorithms in this area have only demonstrated QoS improvements, the proposed QoS network coding is clearly different in the sense that it guarantees that given QoS constraints are met over the network. ©2008 IEEE

    Abstract
The aims of this study were to culturally adapt and validate the Persian version of Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) and present data on its psychometric properties for patients with different foot and ankle problems. The Persian version of FAOS was developed after a standard forward-backward translation and cultural adaptation process. The sample included 93 patients with foot and ankle disorders who were asked to complete two questionnaires: FAOS and Short-Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36). To determine test-retest reliability, 60 randomly chosen patients completed the FAOS again 2 to 6 days after the first administration. Test-retest reliability and internal consistency were assessed using...

QoSNC: A novel approach to qos-based network coding for fixed networks

    , Article Journal of Communications and Networks ; Volume 12, Issue 1 , 2010 , Pages 86-94 ; 12292370 (ISSN) Salavati, A. H ; Khalaj, B. H ; Crespo, P. M ; Aref, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, we present a decentralized algorithm to find minimum cost quality of service (QoS) flow subgraphs in network coded multicast schemes. The main objective is to find minimum cost subgraphs that also satisfy user-specified QoS constraints, specifically with respect to rate and delay demands. We consider networks with multiple multicast sessions. Although earlier network coding algorithms in this area have demonstrated performance improvements in terms of QoS parameters, the proposed QoS network coding approach provides a framework that guarantees QoS constraints are actually met over the network. Abstract
This work suggests a green method for synthesizing Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) using the aqueous extract of Salix aegyptiaca extract. The mechanism of green synthesized AuNPs was examined by molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) calculations. AuNPs were characterized with different techniques such as Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–vis), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Electrochemical investigation of modified glassy carbon electrode using AuNPs (AuNPs/GCE) shows that the electronic transmission rate between the modified electrode and [Fe (CN)6]3−/4− increased. Process of oxidation, energy...

Nonlinear unsupervised feature learning: How local similarities lead to global coding

    , Article Proceedings - 12th IEEE International Conference on Data Mining Workshops, ICDMW 2012 ; 2012 , Pages 506-513 ; 9780769549255 (ISBN) Shaban, A ; Rabiee, H. R ; Tahaei, M. S ; Salavati, E ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This paper introduces a novel coding scheme based on the diffusion map framework. The idea is to run a t-step random walk on the data graph to capture the similarity of a data point to the codebook atoms. By doing this we exploit local similarities extracted from the data structure to obtain a global similarity which takes into account the nonlinear structure of the data. Unlike the locality-based and sparse coding methods, the proposed coding varies smoothly with respect to the underlying manifold. We extend the above transductive approach to an inductive variant which is of great interest for large scale datasets. We also present a method for codebook generation by coarse graining the data...

We prove an inequality for the pth power of the norm of a stochastic convolution integral in a Hilbert space. The inequality is stronger than analogous inequalities in the literature in the sense that it is pathwise and not in expectation

Continuous dependence on coefficients for stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative lévy noise and monotone nonlinearity

    , Article Bulletin of the Iranian Mathematical Society ; Volume 42, Issue 1 , 2016 , Pages 175-194 ; 10186301 (ISSN) Salavati, E ; Zangeneh, B. Z ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Semilinear stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative Lévy noise are considered. The drift term is assumed to be monotone nonlinear and with linear growth. Unlike other similar works, we do not impose coercivity conditions on coefficients. We establish the continuous dependence of the mild solution with respect to initial conditions and also on coefficients. As corollaries of the continuity result, we derive sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of the solutions, we show that Yosida approximations converge to the solution and we prove that solutions have Markov property. Examples on stochastic partial differential equations and stochastic delay differential equations are...

    Abstract
Several studies have investigated postural control in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficient patients; yet the contribution of cognitive processing (attention) in the postural control of these patients is still unclear. A dual-task design was used to determine the effects of a concurrent digit span memory task on standing balance in a group of ACL patients (n = 27) compared with a group of matched, healthy participants (n = 27). In double limb stance, three levels of postural difficulty were studies on a force platform (rigid surface with eyes open, rigid surface with eyes closed, and foam surface with eyes closed). There were three cognitive conditions (no cognitive task, easy cognitive...

    Abstract
In this study, ZnO-Red Ochre nanocomposite was green synthesized by Rosa Damascena (RD) extract (RDZRONCs). Proton Induced X-ray Emission microanalysis (Micro-PIXE) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern confirmed the presence of hematite (Fe2O3), and quartz (SiO2) mineral phases in the Red Ochre (RO) nanoclay. In addition, the XRD pattern shows the ZnO, ZnFe2O4, SiO2, Fe2O3, and Si phases in the RDZRONCs that were green synthesized with natural RD extract and RO. The RDZRONCs were used to modify the carbon paste electrode (CPE) for the electrochemical determination of the anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Salavati, Mohammad Ali (Author) ; Kermanshah, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, with population growth and vehicle traffic increase, only providing transportation supply couldn’t answer the transportation demand. One of the most important solutions to reduce traffic is transportation demand management (TDM). In this research, the effects of parking pricing and improving public transportation services on private car demand reduction in city center are examined. The data are collected from private cars users in the city center of Isfahan through interviews. By stated preference method, the impacts of parking price and public transit travel time and other related factors were investigated. For this purpose, binary logit, multinomial logit and nested logit models...
