Abstract
Recurrence quantification analysis (RQA), a nonlinear method of postural analysis, was used to explore the effects of dual-tasking on postural performance in people with nonspecific low back pain (LBP) compared with healthy participants. Postural performance was quantified by RQA % recurrence, % determinism, entropy and trend. People with nonspecific LBP (n = 22) and unimpaired individuals (n = 22) randomly performed quiet standing tasks with three levels of difficulty (rigid-surface eyes open, rigid-surface eyes closed and foam-surface eyes closed). In this study, the artificial neural network (ANN) and the Taguchi method are employed to optimize the radial force and strain inhomogeneity in radial forging process. The finite element analysis of the process verified by the microhardness test (to confirm the predicted strain distribution) and the experimental forging load published by the previous researcher are used to predict the strain distribution in the final product and the radial force. Knowledge about the non-linear dynamical pattern of postural sway may provide important insights into the adaptability (flexibility) of human postural control in response to everyday stresses imposed on the body. Abstract
This research focused on the corrosion resistance and microstructure of hybrid additively manufactured (HAM) samples of AISI 420/CX (420/CX SS) stainless steels. Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and Mott–Schottky analyses as well as the electrochemical noise (EN) technique were used to evaluate the electrochemical behavior of the as-built and heat-treated HAM parts in NaCl solution. The results showed a more protective passive layer formed on the CX SS side. Utilizing the Finite Element Method (FEM), the strain field in the radial forging process of tube is calculated at different process conditions and compared with the experimental results achieved using the microhardness test. The effect of various process parameters such as friction, axial feed, back push and front pull forces and die angles on the strain field are investigated. Abstract
The aim of this study was to estimate the test-retest reliability of some commonly used center of pressure measures in postural control investigations of sport injuries under the diverse stressful postural conditions. Twelve patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury were evaluated on two separate sessions. Abstract
Radial forging is an open die forging process used for reducing the diameter of shafts, tubes and axels. In the present research, a new velocity field was developed to analyze the radial forging process by the upper bound method. The forging load was predicted by minimizing the deformation power with regards to the location of neutral plane. The accuracy of the model was verified by comparing the predicted forging loads with experimental results published by the previous researcher. Abstract
Rod-shaped samples of maraging steel were additively fabricated in vertical and horizontal directions using laser powder bed fusion technique. The samples were first aged at 490 °C for 6 h and then subjected to dynamic compressive tests using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar apparatus. The dynamic compression tests were conducted on vertical samples at strain rates of 190, 460, 810, 1100, 1300 s−1. However, the high strain rate tests were performed at strain rates of 120, 615, 745, 890, 2200 s−1 on horizontal samples.
