In this paper, we investigate the achievable secrecy rate in a relay channel where the source and the destination wish to keep the information confidential from an untrusted relay (potential eavesdropper). The relay has no energy supply, and harvests its required energy for relaying from its received signals. For radio-frequency (RF) Energy Harvesting (EH) at the relay, we adopt power splitting (PS) approach. A numerical study on mixing/segregation phenomena in a pressurized fluidized bed with large particles of Geldart D type of binary density but same diameter with high velocity gas was performed by the use of discrete particle simulation. Particle mixtures are composed of spherical particles with 2mm diameter and 1g/cm3 flotsam density and different jetsam densities of 1.25, 2 and 2.5g/cm3 with jetsam volume fraction of 0.5. The influence of particle size and surface modification on sonocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticles was investigated by measuring the degradation efficiency of methyl orange (MO) as a model pollutant. Abstract
In this study, we have investigated the potential of a native bacterial strain isolated from an Iranian oil field for the production of biosurfactant. The bacterium was identified to be Bacillus mycoides by biochemical tests and 16S ribotyping. The biosurfactant, which was produced by this bacterium, was able to reduce the surface tension of media to 34 mN/m. Biosurfactant production was optimized by the combination of central composite design (CCD) and response surface methodology (RSM). In this paper, we focus on a cognitive network scenario, comprised of a multi-hop IEEE 802.11-based WLAN overlaid on a cellular network. Abstract
Low-carbon steel sheets are severely plastic deformed to strains of up to ≈3.48 and subsequently heat treated by conventional annealing followed by water-quenching. Four temperatures are chosen for the annealing below and over the Ac1 and Ac3 transformation lines. The effects of post-deformation heat treatment are investigated by evaluating the microstructure and mechanical properties, including strength, ductility, work hardening capability, and hardness. In the considered scenario, the secondary users operate in the downlink or uplink frequency band of primary network and transmit their data in free primary channels using OFDM technique.
