Abstract
Efficient utilization of runways, as major bottlenecks at airports, not only minimizes flight delays but also plays a vital role in reducing fuel emissions and mitigating environmental impacts. Aircraft scheduling problem studied in this paper seeks to improve this efficiency through optimally scheduling departure/arrival aircraft on multiple runways. The primary innovation of this study lies in accounting for aircraft taxi times between runways and gates, as well as the landing delay patterns, which have not been simultaneously addressed in the literature. Abstract
In this study, nanostructured biodegradable pure Zn, Zn-4 wt. % Mn and Zn-24 wt % Mn alloys were produced by 20 h mechanical alloying and consequent cold pressing and sintering. Structural evolutions were investigated using the X-ray diffraction technique. Also, the microstructure was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The effects of alloy composition on density, mechanical properties, corrosion behavior in Hank's solution, cell viability and cell attachment were investigated. Abstract
Background: Hearing loss affects access to spoken language, which can affect cognition and development, and can negatively affect social wellbeing. We present updated estimates from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study on the prevalence of hearing loss in 2019, as well as the condition's associated disability. Methods: We did systematic reviews of population-representative surveys on hearing loss prevalence from 1990 to 2019. We fitted nested meta-regression models for severity-specific prevalence, accounting for hearing aid coverage, cause, and the presence of tinnitus.
