Abstract
Thermal neutron analysis (TNA) technology has been used for the non-destructive detection of explosives. The system uses a relatively weak 252Cf neutron source (1.03.107 n/s) and two 3″3×″ NaI(Tl) detectors. The presence of explosives is confirmed via detection of the 10.83 MeV prompt gamma-ray associated with nitrogen decay. The MCNP4A code was used to simulate the neutron and gamma transport through the system. The thermal neutron flux in the activation position was measured using gold and indium foils. The measured thermal neutron flux was lower, by not more than 9.5%, than that of simulation. In this report the results of the preliminary tests on the system are described

Abstract
A multicomponent polysaccharide obtained from dried tubers of certain natural terrestrial orchids was chemically modified by sulfonation using chlorosulfonic acid-dimethylformamide (HClSO3-DMF) complex as a reagent. For a structural characterization of salep sulfate 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) curves were recorded. Optical measurement of voltage because of its excellent advantages is studied by several research groups. In this paper, two optically voltage measurement method based on periodic structure have been introduced. First one is based on Bragg reflection effect. Clarification of rough nonalcoholic beer using microfiltration as an alternative to conventional filtration with filter aids presents scientific and technical challenges for the brewing industry. An experimental pilot plant was used to evaluate the permeability and selectivity of polymeric membranes in the clarification process. Abstract
Etoposide (EP) is one of the anticancer drugs with wide application and many side effects. Therefore, it is very important to provide a simple, fast and sensitive measurement method to monitor the treatment of patients treated with this drug. In the upcoming research, etoposide has been measured using a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with a new green synthesized nanocomposite. To prepare the nanocomposite, first the Lapis lazuli stone was ground by rubbing in a stone mortar. Abstract
In this paper, a new technique based on nonlinear resonance of microbubbles is investigated in order to estimate the amplitude of an ultrasound wave pressure field. First, the existing theoretical model is reviewed. Then, an experimental setup consisting of a bubble generator and transmitting/receiving ultrasound transducers operating in the 1 MHz frequency range is described. The effect of background noise is also taken into account. Results show that the second harmonic oscillations are detectable, paving the way to develop a quantitative method for in vivo calibration of ultrasound waves

In this paper, the effect of molybdenum on the grain boundary segregation of other elements was studied in Incoloy 901 superalloy. Initially, five alloys were prepared with different percentages of Mo by using a vacuum induction furnace. Then, these alloys were remelted by Electro-slag remelting (ESR) process and after homogenizing at 1160 °C for 2. h followed by air cooling, were rolled. Abstract
In this project, the protective effect of Biebersteinia multifida root extract (BMRE) against corrosion of 1018 low carbon steel (1018LCS) in HCl solutions was appraised by assessing weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and polarization at 25 °C. The maximum inhibitory efficacy for the concentration of 1 g/l of the BMRE was 92.8% at 25 °C after 2 h and increased to 95.3% after 24 h of immersion. Polarization experiments have shown that the extract in acidic solutions can act as a mixed corrosion inhibitor. The corrosion inhibitory efficacy of BMRE decreased with increasing temperature, and at all temperature settings studied, the adsorption of BMRE molecules on 1018 LCS...

In this study, the nonlinear partial differential equations governing two phase flow through porous media are solved using two different methods, namely, finite difference and finite element. The capillary pressure term is considered in the mathematical model. The numerical results on a 2-D test case are then compared with the experimental drainage process and water flooding performed on a glass type micromodel. Abstract
In this study, optimized cephalexin-loaded niosomal formulations based on span 60 and tween 60 were prepared as a promising drug carrier system. The niosomal formulations were characterized using a series of techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and zeta potential measurement. The size and drug encapsulation efficiency are determined by the type and composition of surfactant.
