    MFI zeolite membranes were prepared on porous α-alumina substrates, using secondary growth of nano-seeded layers. The resulting membranes were characterized by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD), and pervaporation performance tests for separation of Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX) mixture from contaminated water. The morphology, thickness, homogeneity, crystal preferential orientation and permeation properties of these membranes have been studied in relation to the seed layers.     For a wide range of graphene applications, it is required to examine the fracture characteristics of single-layer graphene sheets. In this article, we study the effective parameters in fracture of graphene, concentrating on the impact of atomistic modeling on results that have not been adequately evaluated in previous studies. We considered two distinct models to simulate a uniaxial tensile test in molecular dynamics. By comparing these models, we explore the influence of various parameters on the results, particularly fracture strength and failure strain.     In the present study, free vibrations and stability of rotating single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) is investigated by nonlocal theory of elasticity; while the CNT is partially resting on an elastic foundation.     Abstract
    A moving bed biofilm reactor with pre-denitrification configuration was fed with a synthetic wastewater containing high chemical oxygen demand (COD) and ammonia. By changing different variables including ammonium and COD loading, nitrification rate in the aerobic reactor and denitrification rate in the anoxic reactor were monitored. Changing the influent loading was achieved via adjusting the inlet COD (956-2,096 mg/L), inlet ammonium (183-438 mg/L), and hydraulic retention time of the aerobic reactor (8, 12, and 18 hours). The overall organic loading rate was in the range of 3.60-17.37 gCOD/m2·day, of which 18.5-91% was removed in the anoxic reactor depending on the operational conditions....

    Sludge handling is a common issue in all biological wastewater treatment methods. In this study, sonication technique as a state-of-the-art technology has been applied to a continuous MBBR system with the aim of sludge reduction. A novel configuration of MBBR with an additional recycle stream of sonicated sludge was used as the experimental setup. Based on exposed energy and sludge disruption performance, optimized sonication density and exposure time were obtained 1.5 W/mL and 15 min, respectively.     A production-routing problem with price-dependent demand (PRP-PD) is studied in this paper. Demand follows a general convex, differentiable, continuous and strictly decreasing function in price. The problem is modeled as a mixed integer nonlinear program (MINLP). Two Outer Approximation (OA) based algorithms are developed to solve the PRP-PD. The efficiency of the proposed algorithms in comparison with commercial MINLP solvers is demonstrated. The computational results show that our basic OA algorithm outperforms the commercial solvers both in solution quality and in computational time aspects.     In the present work, multistage extraction column performance for reactive separation of molybdenum from the leach aqueous phase by using D2EHPA and TBP in kerosene was investigated by using the axial diffusion model.
