    A modified two-surface plasticity model for saturated and unsaturated soils

    Abstract
    A modified two-surface critical state plasticity model for saturated and unsaturated soil is presented in this study. The key modification in new model is inclusion of an alternative yield surface used to simulate the behavior of unsaturated soils in addition to corresponding saturated conditions. Moreover, a numerical technique is used to obtain an incremental stress–strain response from loading curves. Modification is applied continuously in each incremental step to return the final stress states and hardening parameters to the yield surface.     Abstract
    This paper presents a novel model for designing a reliable network of facilities in closed-loop supply chain under uncertainty. For this purpose, a bi-objective mathematical programming formulation is developed which minimizes the total costs and the expected transportation costs after failures of facilities of a logistics network. To solve the model, a new hybrid solution methodology is introduced by combining robust optimization approach, queuing theory and fuzzy multi-objective programming. Computational experiments are provided for a number of test problems using a realistic network instance

    Abstract
    In this paper a replacement-repair model is developed to study a renewing free replacement warranty (RFRW) for a class of multi-state deteriorating repairable products. After a replacement, the product warranty is renewed. Two parameters affect the manufacturer's decision to minimally repair or replace a failed item: the product deterioration level at the time of failure and the remaining warranty time. We derive an optimal replacement-repair policy to minimise the expected warranty servicing cost per item sold.     Correlation-intractability is a random-oracle-like property of hash functions, so one can expect that constructions that are secure in random-oracle-model, remain secure when implemented using a correlation-intractable hash function. This is true about Fiat-Shamir transform which is a method for eliminating interaction from public-coin interactive proofs.     Abstract
    Modified couple stress theory is a size-dependent theorem capturing the micro/nanoscale effects influencing the mechanical behaviors of the micro- and nanostructures. In this paper, it is applied to investigate the nonlinear vibration of carbon nanotubes under step DC voltage. The vibration, natural frequencies and dynamic pull-in characteristics of the carbon nanotubes are studied in detail. Moreover, the effects of various boundary conditions and geometries are scrutinized on the dynamic characteristics. The results reveal that application of this theory leads to the higher values of the natural frequencies and dynamic pull-in voltages
