Abstract
Recent developments in improving lighting efficiency and cost reduction of LED’s have caused them to be a suitable alternative for the current lighting systems. In this thesis a novel off-line structure is proposed to drive LED’s. The proposed circuit has a high power factor and high efficiency and a long lifetime. To increase the life time of the converter, the proposed circuit doesn’t use any electrolytic capacitors in the power stage. Secure routing is a major key to service maintenance in ad hoc networks. Ad hoc nature exposes the network to several types of node misbehavior or attacks. As a result of the resource limitations in such networks nodes may have a tendency to behave selfishly. Selfish behavior can have drastic impacts on network performance. We have proposed a Misbehavior-Tolerant Multipath Routing protocol (MTMR) which detects and punishes all types of misbehavior such as selfish behavior, wormhole, sinkhole and grey-hole attacks. A mathematical model is presented to simulate the multiple heterogeneous reactions with complex set of physicochemical and thermal phenomena in a moving bed of porous pellets. This model is based on both heat and mass transfer phenomena of gaseous species in a porous medium including chemical reactions at interfaces whose areas vary during the conversion. This model accounts for both the exothermic and endothermic reactions which can be equimolar or nonequimolar. A mathematical model is developed to investigate the reduction process of hematite in the reduction zone of the Midrex shaft furnace as a moving bed reactor. It is described as a counter-current moving bed cylindrical reactor in which hematite pellets are reduced by a gaseous mixture of hydrogen, water vapour, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, namely Syngas. Abstract
A mathematical model has been developed to simulate heterogeneous reactions with a complex set of physicochemical and thermal phenomena in a packed bed. These include the chemical reaction itself, the transport of gaseous species in the pores, the generation or consumption of heat by the reactions, and the transport of heat in the porous domain. Solution of complicated sets of governing equations is based upon the concept of a finite volume fully implicit approach.
