Abstract
Effect of utilizing Central Beam Column (CBC) structure on shallow, large span underground spaces excavation is studied. The CBC method focuses on increasing the overall rigidity of tunnel supporting system prior to full face excavation, in which central drift excavation is limited to the dimensions of the central beam and column to reduce disturbances. Constructing the central beam and column structure, the excavation is completed with NATM excavation method in a symmetric manner about centerline. Abstract
Non-linear loads such as rectifiers are growing in industry. Three phase inverter with non-linear load can lead to highly distorted output voltage. This paper proposes a method for reducing voltage THD in three phase inverters with non-linear load. The proposed method considers the load current as a disturbance and provide a control strategy to reject it using the disturbance observer method. This method doesn't need any additional sensors or hardware and is implemented digitally in controller. Simulation results show that the presented method will reduce the total harmonic distortion of the output voltage. © 2017 IEEE

Abstract
In this thesis, we simulate the competition between some investment strategies based on dividends with each other and with mean-variance strategy (Markowitz) in an evolutionary finance framework. We perform simulations by two different approaches. In the first one, we use real dividend data and, in the second one we use dividends that are generated according to a dividend factor model. The dividend factor model which relates the dividends to the macro-economic factors is estimated from data using principal component analysis. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to study the mechanical behaviour of β-SiC at nano-scale under tensile loading. Effects of loading rate and tensile temperature on the mechanical properties and failure were studied. Modified embedded-atom method (MEAM) potential and Berendsen thermostat were utilized for modelling. Periodic boundary conditions were employed and the behaviour of material was analyzed under three-axial loading condition at which the stress–strain relation was acceptably size independent. In this thesis, combustion of liquid fuel spray under the condition of hot and diluted oxidizer, has been investigated. To this end, a novel type laboratory-scale test rig was designed to study the physics governing the MILD-Spray combustion conditions with an applied approach. The present research aims to investigate the development of brass reinforced aluminum composites during dissimilar friction stir welding of brass and aluminum. Moreover, to probe the effect of such a metal matrix composite on its bed, the cross-sectional properties of joint area are studied in two aspects of corrosion behavior and hardness distribution. Microstructural investigations through optical and electron microscopy show development of lamellar composites within the top site of the stir zone and aluminum surface.
