A robust watermarking method for color images using Naive-Bayes classifier
, Article Proceedings of the Fifth IASTED International Conference on Signal and Image Processing, Honolulu, HI, 13 August 2003 through 15 August 2003 ; Volume 5 , 2003 , Pages 8-12 ; 0889863784 (ISBN) ; Jamzad, M ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
By watermarking an image, we hide a pattern in it in such a way that the pattern is not visible but can be extracted using a decomposition algorithm and a key in the receiver side. The watermark pattern can be a character string or any small image (pattern). One of the main applications of watermarking is its application in proving digital image ownership in widely used Internet. In this paper, we present a watermarking method for color images which is robust with respect to usual attacks such as noise addition, smoothing, compression and also rotation. The validity of correctness of retrieved watermark is based on the result of a Naive-Bayes classifier. This classier was trained on a set of...
Metaphysics of Bohm-Bub's Modal Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shafiee, Afshin (Supervisor)
Abstract
According to modal interpretations of quantum mechanics, a state possesses definite values even if it is not an eigenstate. On the other hand, Kochen-Specker theorem holds that all possible possessed values by a system can not be definite. Consequently, modal interpretations to block this theorem, take new metaphysics of properties. In this dissertation, I will show that dispositionalism is that metaphysics. According to dispositionalism, causal powers of a property are constituents of the property. As regards this outline, the thesis would be divided into 5 chapters. In chapter one, presuppositions of later arguments are clarified. Chapter two is related to algebra of properties and finally...
Theoretical Investigation and Optimization of Effective Microbial Parameters of Different Biocatalyst in Microbial Fuel Cells System Using Genetic Algorithm
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Yaghmaie, Soheila (Supervisor)
Abstract
Microbial fuel cell is one of the new technologies in the field of power generation from the organic energy resource. The fuel cell system in a process similar to chemical fuel cell generate electrical energy through oxidation of organic composition by uses of electrogenic microorganisms as biocatalyst. In this study the main object is providing a comprehensive mathematical model for the fuel cell system in micro-liter size. To achieve this purpose, we start to investigate properties of fuel cell system in this size. And according to the geometry of system we choose chemotactic equation for estimating hydrodynamic behavior of microorganism and using combination of conductive base and...
Chaperones promote remarkable solubilization of salmonella enterica serovar enteritidis flagellin expressed in escherichia coli

Abstract
Background: Flagellin of Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SEF) stimulates immune responses to both itself and coapplied antigens. It is therefore used in vaccine development and immunotherapy. Removal of pathogenic S. enterica ser. Enteritidis from SEF production process is advantageous due to the process safety improvement. The protein solubility analysis using SDS-PAGE indicated that 53.49% of SEF expressed in Escherichia coli formed inclusion bodies. However, the protein recovery from inclusion bodies requires a complex process with a low yield. Objective: We thus aim to study possibility of enhancing SEF expression in E. coli in soluble form using chemical and molecular...

Abstract
Objective: The advent of telehealth applications and remote patient monitoring has led to an increasing need for continuous signal quality monitoring to ensure high diagnostic accuracy of the recordings. Cardiovascular diseases often manifest electrophysiological anomalies, therefore the electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most used signals for diagnostic applications. Various types of noise and artifacts are not uncommon in ECG recordings and assessing the quality of the signal is essential prior to any clinical interpretation. In this study, a dynamic signal quality index (dSQI) is introduced using a new time-frequency template-based approach. Approach: A smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville...
