In this paper, we address a basic production planning problem with price dependent demand and stochastic yield of production. We use price and target quantity as decision variables to lower the risk of low yield. The value of risk control becomes more important especially for products with short life cycle. Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the CO emission from an oil refinery gas incinerator both theoretically and experimentally. At the beginning of this research, our collected data from this incinerator showed that the CO contamination would be far exceeding the permissible environmental standards at the stack exhaust. Therefore, we decided to perform a combined theoretical-experimental study to find a reasonable solution to reduce the CO pollution suitably. Our theoretical study showed that a reliable solution would be to increase the incinerator operating temperature. Abstract
This paper introduces a novel, cost effective visual cryptography scheme suitable for color image transmission over bandwidth constraint channels. Unlike previously proposed schemes, the solution offers perfect reconstruction while producing shares with size smaller than that of the input image. The maximum distance separable (MDS) code principle used in the design allows for the introduction of a flexible framework that compares favorably to competing solutions as it can be seen by examining the experimental results included in this paper. ©2008 IEEE

Abstract
A supramolecular linear-dendritic copolymer consisting of a polystyrene backbone and hanging hyperbranched polyglycerols was prepared and characterized. Host-guest interactions between β-cyclodextrin incorporated in the core of polyglycerol as a host and aromatic rings of polystyrene as guests lead to the formation of a supramolecular linear-dendritic copolymer. Abstract
In this paper a two level supply chain system is studied, in which the final demand is assumed to be fuzzy with triangular membership function. The inventory control policy of (r, Q) is followed for this system and unsatisfied demand is assumed to be back ordered. The objective is to minimize the total cost of the system, including ordering, holding and shortage costs. The model happens to be a nonlinear programming. Considering the complexity arising from the model, we also develop a genetic algorithm to obtain a near-optimal solution. The method is illustrated through some numerical examples

A field sampling campaign was implemented to evaluate the variation in air pollutants levels near a highway in Tehran, Iran (Hemmat highway). The field measurements were used to estimate road link-based emission factors for average vehicle fleet. These factors were compared with results of an in tunnel measurement campaign (in Resalat tunnel). Roadside and in-tunnel measurements of carbon monoxide (CO) and size-fractionated particulate matter (PM) were conducted during the field campaign. In this paper, we investigate optimal coding strategies for a class of linear deterministic relay networks. The network under study is a relay network, with one source, one destination, and two relay nodes. Additionally, there is a disturbing source of signals that causes interference with the information signals received by the relay nodes. The multiuser performance of two kinds of ultra-wideband (UWB) systems, namely, multi-carrier frequency-hopping-UWB and time-hopping-UWB, is evaluated. We derive the bit error rate of these systems in both AWGN and fading channels. Our numerical results show that the TH-UWB system always outperforms the MC-FH-UWB system with non-coherent detection. However, the MC-FH-UWB system with coherent detection presents a better performance than TH-UWB in a very few cases. In this paper, we evaluate and compare the multiuser performance of the Fast Frequency-Hopping (FFH) and the MultiCarrier slow Frequency-Hopping (MC-FH) systems employing non-coherent detection for both uncoded and coded schemes in AWGN and slowly frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels, based on Gaussian distribution assumption for the decision variable. In this paper, we evaluate and compare the multiuser performance of the multicarrier frequency-hopping (MCFH) CDMA system using coherent and non-coherent detections in AWGN and slowly frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels in a downlink application. For fair comparison, we use BFSK modulation for both cases. Our numerical results indicate that in both AWGN and fading channels, the coherent detection sub-stantially outperforms the non-coherent detection.
