, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Zahra (Author) ; Malaek, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Supply chains are socio-technical engineering systems which now days perform in more uncertain operational environment than before. These systems have been vulnerable because of increasing the number of natural disasters, competitiveness and changing the demand. So these systems in order to be survived in such high uncertain environment need to enhance some capabilities in their structure. In this research by considering an assumed auto supply chain, we try to develop an approach to cover uncertainties in operational environment of this system. At the next step, we use design structure matrix modeling to model the interactions between system elements before and after scenario occurring....

Swirl Injector Modeling for Cryogenic Propulsion

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Alireza (Author) ; Morad, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Flow analysis in and out of the pressure-swirl injector in supercritical condition is investigated in this thesis. These injectors widely are used in different industries such gas turbine combustion chamber and liquid fuel rockets. Flow simulation in these injectors is so complex because of existence of gas core in axial region and high swirl and axial speeds in injectors. Unlike subcritical condition, droplet and ligament don’t form in supercritical condition so injector performance represents with two parameters including liquid film thickness in vortex chamber and liquid spreading angle. Mass flow, geometric constant, length and the distance between tangential inlet and injector head, are...

Investigation and Simulation of Overcooling Transients of The Bushehr's VVER-1000 Nuclear Power Plant with RELAP5/MOD3.3

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Amir Hossein (Author) ; Ghofrani, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor)
    Abstract
During the operation of a nuclear power plant, the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) is exposed to a variety of pressure and thermal stresses and neutron radiations. This will cause the loss of the initial strength of the reactor vessel component. During the occurrence of some of accidents, an excessive cooling of the coolant inside the RPV takes place which in the term is called overcooling transients. In addition, in some of these events, a break in a section of the circuit will reduce the water level at the core of the reactor. By reducing the water level, the existing emergency makeup water systems are activated and inject water into the reactor. The temperature of the added water is much...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Pedram (Author) ; Rejaei Salmasi, Behzad (Supervisor) ; Memarian, Mohammad (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
In wave theory, it is conventional to divide media into reciprocal and non-reciprocal types. The Lorentz reciprocity theorem is the most prominent theorem in electromagnetic theory. One wave phenomenon that can be explained by the reciprocity theorem is unidirectional waves. These waves are well-known in the literature and have diverse practical applications. However, in this research, we explore some curiosity-driven questions regarding their behavior near barriers. We hypothesize that new applications might be discovered for these waves. In summary, we analyze the behavior of unidirectional waves when they encounter barriers. The main question is: if unidirectional waves cannot propagate...

, Article Nanotechnology ; February 2012, Vol. 23, No. 4, PP. 045102 Behzadi, S. (Shahed) ; Imani, Mohammad ; Yousefi, Mohammad ; Galinetto, Pietro ; Simchi, Abdolreza ; Amiri, Houshang ; Stroeve, Pieter ; Mahmoudi, Morteza ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Nanoparticles for biomedical use must be cytocompatible with the biological environment that they are exposed to. Current research has focused on the surface functionalization of nanoparticles by using proteins, polymers, thiols and other organic compounds. Here we show that inorganic nanoparticles such as titanium oxide can be coated by pyrolytic carbon (PyC) and that the coating has cytocompatible properties. Pyrolization and condensation of methane formed a thin layer of pyrolytic carbon on the titanium oxide core. The formation of the PyC shell retards coalescence and sintering of the ceramic phase. Our MTT assay shows that the PyC-coated particles are cytocompatible at employed doses

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Amir (Author) ; Firoozabadi, Bahar (Supervisor) ; Saeedi, Mohammad Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the main reasons of brain attack is stenosis in Carotid bifurcation. As a result, it's a major field of interest for a large group of scientists including medical doctors and engineers. In the engineering fields a large number of studies have been done on this topic based on Numerical Simulation. As blood boundary conditions in this region strictly depend on the rest of the body's vascular system, the problem is the definition of the boundary condition in this approach. In addition, because of lack of enough hardware sources simulation of the whole blood system is impossible; thus the rest of the system should be simulated based on radical methods with less details. In this project a...

Loving Country is Part of Faith; Investigating the Relationship between Religious Factors and Sacrifice

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Jafari Nodeh, Negin (Author) ; Yousefi, Kowsar (Supervisor) ; Rahmati, Mohammad Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Wars are destructive and ruin lives. However, when it comes to defending one’s home country and religion, the brilliant aspects of sacrifice are highlighted. The 1980 war between Iran and Iraq, which lasted eight years and cost more than 200,000 lives, is a prime example of such sacrifices. Religions demand sacrifices and create club goods like altruism, cooperation, and effort, which are crucial on the battlefield. Religious institutions, like the Imamzadehs in Iran, strengthen people’s faith and play a significant role in these sacrifices. About eight thousand Imamzadehs in Iran are tombs of the grandchildren of Prophet Muhammad, who left the Arab land seeking a peaceful life among...
