    Abstract
Data aggregation is a technique that is used to decrease extra and repetitive data in cluster based routing protocols. As we know SPEED routing algorithm is based on service quality and dose not perform data aggregation. In this article, we try to add an data aggregation technique to the available techniques without interfering with the functions of previous ones. The idea involves virtual configuration of sensors and specification of an individual ID to the created data by the sensors in each region, then data aggregation in relay node is done by this ID, resulting in less energy consumption, lower traffic and repeated data, an increase in network lifetime and better quality of service

    Abstract
The alloy steel plant was exploited in1999; and the maintenance department starts its function and its activities according to the written PM software by Austria’s BOHLER Company. The PM program was written for the entire factory. Having worked with the PM for eight years, now it is possible to evaluate its performance. There are two main problems in the maintenance system; firstly, the existing PM System is incomplete, some important feature of the PM program is incomplete. Secondly there are lacks of a good auditing system to evaluate the PM orders. To evaluate the weakness of the current PM system and to study application of TPM, a section of the factory was...

On Proofs and Some Consequences of Serre’s Conjecture on Projective Modules

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Abbasi Fakhr, Jalil (Author) ; Jafari, Amir (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Jean-Pierre Serre in 1955, in his famous article “Faisceaux Algébriques Cohérents” asked if there is any finitely generated projective module on polynomial rings which is not free. Or equivalently: is there any non-trivial algebraic vector bundle over an affine space? The negative answer to this question is known as Serre’s conjecture and it was an open problem in algebra and affine algebraic geometry until 1976, when it was proved independently by Quillen and Suslin. The challenge of solving this question and its consequences led to a vast amount of research in commutative algebra, homological algebra and algebraic K-theory and inspired generalizations and similar questions. In this thesis...

    Abstract
The purpose of this research is the aerodynamic design of a 100 kW transonic ducted fan. Today, the aviation industry is moving towards the design of electric driven aircraft propulsion. Transonic ducted fans are one of the viable options that have been used in medium and heavy aircrafts due to their high specific power. In this research, the meanline model has been used for the initial design. By applying the design constraints, design limitations, design and functional parameters, the initial design point is found and then a sensitivity analysis is performed with respect to the effective design parameters to obtain the optimal design point. For the initial design of the transonic ducted...

    Abstract
Different nonlinearities in micro-electro-mechanical resonators lead to various nonlinear behaviors such as chaotic motion which can affect the resonator performance. As a result, it is important to properly identify and analyze the chaotic regions in resonators. In this paper, a novel method is proposed for prediction of the chaos in the micro- and nano-electro-mechanical resonators. Based on the proposed method, first an accurate analytical solution for the dynamics behavior of the nano-resonators is derived using the multiple scales method up to the second order. The results obtained by this analytical solution are validated by comparing them with the numerical ones. Using the analytical...

    , Article Separation and Purification Technology ; Volume 86 , February , 2012 , Pages 143-148 ; 13835866 (ISSN) Keshavarz Alamdari, E ; Darvishi, D ; Haghshenas, D. F ; Yousefi, N ; Sadrnezhaad, S. K ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
Re/Mo separation is studied by a new solvent extraction technique which is based on extraction mechanisms of the constituent metals. Based on McCabe-Thiele plots, a flow diagram has been proposed for separation and purification of Re over Mo. Re-recovery section of the diagram shows that Re is extracted when major amount of Mo is removed. For removal of the remained Mo, a two-stage extraction is required at pH = 2 and V a/V o = 1. In order to obtain Re, the resulted aqueous phase is stripped by adding sulfuric acid. According to the results, while more Re is extracted at less pH, optimum extraction of Mo happens at pH = 1.2. Re selectivity over Mo maximizes by approaching of the pH to zero

Design of Power Amplifier in Ku Band in the Process of GaAs-pHEMT

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Alireza (Author) ; Medi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Power amplifiers are used as the last block of transmitters. This block can be categorized as the one of most important part in communication systems. However, in transmitter systems which require high power to create stable link with the receivers, fabrication process like CMOS are unable to provide such level of power. Thus, designers employ another group of integrated circuits which names MMIC that offers this capability to designers. MMIC is the abbreviation of Microwave Integrated Circuit which is implemented in compound substrates like GaAs. Monolithic microwave integrated circuits enable the implementation of amplifiers in small size, large number, with high precision and appropriate...

A Comparison between Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS)and P2MP IP-only LAN Service (IPLS)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yousefi, Dariush (Author) ; Ajorloo, Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today Ethernet is the predominant technology for implementing Local Area Networks. Its privileges encourage service providers to extend Ethernet from Local Area Networks to Metropolitan Area Networks or even Wide Area Networks. Ethernet benefits such as low operational costs, well interoperability, plug-n-paly characteristic and rapid provisioning on demand make Ethernet ideal for Metropolitan Area Networks. But Ethernet by itself has some weakness like flat structure that makes it unfit for use in Metropolitan Area Networks. A suitable solution for taking advantages of Ethernet benefits in service provider network is using Ethernet in access network and applying multi-point to multi-point...

Effects of free quartz on mechanical behaviour of kaolinite based geopolymers

    , Article Materials Technology ; Volume 26, Issue 2 , Jul , 2011 , Pages 96-99 ; 10667857 (ISSN) Yousefi, E ; Majidi, B ; Sharif University of Technology
    2011
    Abstract
Quartz is usually detected as an impurity of kaolinite clays. The present work attempts to evaluate the role and behaviour of quartz particles in geopolymerisation and its probable effects on mechanical behaviour of geopolymeric products. Two kaolinite clays with different free quartz contents were used as raw materials to produce geopolymers. Results showed that using high content quartz kaolin causes higher compressive strength. Scanning electron microscopy studies confirmed that quartz does not participate in geopolymerisation and completely remains in the structure as fine particles. High hardness quartz particles by retarding crack growth in the geopolymer matrix enhance mechanical...

Then, by using the state feedback controller, the effect of sensor and piezoelectric actuator on the vibrations reduction of the structure and increasing the...

A Task-Based Greedy Scheduling Algorithm for Minimizing Energy of MapReduce Jobs

    , Article Journal of Grid Computing ; Volume 16, Issue 4 , 2018 , Pages 535-551 ; 15707873 (ISSN) Yousefi, M.H.N ; Goudarzi, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Springer Netherlands  2018
    Abstract
MapReduce and its open source implementation, Hadoop, have gained widespread adoption for parallel processing of big data jobs. Since the number of such big data jobs is also rapidly rising, reducing their energy consumption is increasingly more important to reduce environmental impact as well as operational costs. Prior work by Mashayekhy et al. (IEEE Trans. Parallel Distributed Syst. 26, 2720–2733, 2016), has tackled the problem of energy-aware scheduling of a single MapReduce job but we provide a far more efficient heuristic in this paper. We first model the problem as an Integer Linear Program to find the optimal solution using ILP solvers. Then we present a task-based greedy scheduling...
