    Human cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is a specific biomarker for diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In this paper, a composite sensing system of an optical microsphere resonator and silver nanoparticles based on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) techniques towards a point of care diagnostic system for AMI using the cTnI biomarker in HEPES buffered solution (HBS) is proposed. Pump and Raman signals enter the optical fiber coupling into the microsphere, and then SRS occurs in the microsphere.     Abstract
    A scheme for deterministic secure and high bit-rate direct communication without resorting to a distinct control interval is proposed. It utilizes three entangled qubits, and presents higher bit transfer rate of information and higher security. The security of protocol is asserted by introducing a security control for each transferred bit. The protocol is investigated for a class of individual attacks and it is explicitly showed that the protocol has a high security even in the presence of channel loss

    Abstract
    In this paper, an analysis of the harmonic contents of the optical output power for an in-plane single mode laser diode is performed, and the results are described in detail. In the first step, the absolute value of power for each harmonic is obtained in terms of various laser diode parameters, and the variations of external parameters, such as modulation current, bias current and frequency, are discussed. The analysis is done by direct solution of the rate equations of an arbitrary laser diode for carrier and photon densities.     Abstract

    Abstract
    The preparation of microcapsules containing perphenazine by solvent evaporation using ethyl cellulose is described. The microparticles are formed after solvent evaporation and polymer precipitation. The drug was dissolved in a polymer solution and emulsified into an aqueous phase to form microcapsules. To study the effects on particle size, encapsulation efficiency and morphology, three different molecular weights of ethyl cellulose (Mw=47000, 71000 and 99000) were used. Covalent bonding of drugs to polymers via hydrolytically or enzymatically cleavable covalent bond was achieved for sustained drug delivery.     Abstract
    Artificial neural networks (ANN) have not been used in chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) outcome prediction following surgery. We used two methods, namely logistic regression and ANN, to predict using eight variables CSDH outcome as assessed by the Glasgow outcome score (GOS) at discharge. We had 300 patients (213 men and 87 women) and potential predictors were age, sex, midline shift, intracranial air, hematoma density, hematoma thickness, brain atrophy, and Glasgow coma score (GCS).     Abstract
    A scheme for deterministic secure direct communication based on ping-pong protocol without restricting the security control only to a distinct control mode and debate via classical channel is proposed. It utilizes an entangled pair of qubits and presents a higher bit-rate transfer of information together with a higher security than ping-pong protocol. The security of protocol is enhanced by introducing a control factor for each message mode. It is explicitly showed that the protocol has a high degree of security against a class of individual attacks, and successfully resolves the famous Wojcik attack

    The exact numerical solution of the nonlinear Ginzburg-Landau equation for Josephson junctions is obtained, from which the precise nontrivial current density and effective potential of the Josephson junctions are found. Based on the resulting potential well, the tunneling probabilities of the associated bound states are computed which are in complete agreement with the reported experimental data. Instead of regular patterns considered in previous studies, using the Poisson Cluster Process, an aggregated spatial distribution was considered for the artificial marine fouling.     Effects of suppression devices on the vortex induced vibration (VIV) of inclined cylinders appear not to have received previous due attentions. The current paper reports the results of some towing tank experiments on the vortex induced cross-flow vibrations of bare and helically straked cylinders in vertical and inclined arrangements.     Abstract
    We consider an optomechanical system with two membranes when a bichromatic laser field with red-sideband and blue-sideband frequencies is applied in the single photon strong coupling regime. It is shown that using the mode selecting method and under the Lamb-Dicke approximation, motion of membranes can evolve to single or two mode squeezed number states. By considering the environmental effect, a Wigner function is plotted for understanding the conditions that lead to the generation of non-Gaussian states. The results show that, in this system, initial states of membranes are important to generation of non-Gaussian mechanical squeezed number states. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

    Abstract
    The single-photon strong coupling in the deep-resolved sideband of the optomechanical system induces photon blockade (PB) effect. For the PB cavity, an initial mechanical coherent state evolves into superposition of phonon cat states entangled with the cavity Fock states. Measurement of the cavity photon number states produces phonon even and odd cat states. The information leakage effect of two photon states on the fidelity of cat states is calculated, it is shown that for low average phonon number this effect is negligible and decreases by increasing the two photon cavity state. The Lindblad equation is solved numerically to obtain the environmental effects on the fidelity of cat states

    A terahertz modulator based on the Type-II superconductor flux flow oscillator has been proposed. Analytical calculations are presented and the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic parameters such as disorder strength of crystal, penetration depth, frequency, and amplitude of the modulated current on the radiation power spectrum have been studied.
