Abstract
In the present research, two series of N2O2- and N4O2-naphthadiaza-crown macrocyclic ligands with different macroring size, 15-21 memberd (L1-L7) were synthesized using direct method. The products were characterized by applying 1H and 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis and in some cases by X-ray crystallography. Firstly, to study on emission properties of naphthadiaza-crown macrocyclic ligands as a fluorophore, we employed different amines as fluorescence quencher. It was observed that the quenching effects of 3o aliphatic amines like triethylamine were more pronounce than other group of amines. Also, the quenching constants for interactions of macrocyclic...

Abstract
We have explored the suitability of an O,N,N–donor Schiff base (H2SB) for obtaining dinuclear complexes with heavy metal ions such as Cu2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, and Co2+ (borderline acids) as well as Pd2+ and Cd2+ (soft acids). Spectroscopic studies demonstrated that the complexation of H2SB and Cu2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Pd2+, and Cd2+ occurred at a 1:1 stoichiometry. We have found two square planar centers with Pd-N-Pd angles of 93.08(11)◦ and a Pd–Pd distance of 3.0102(4) Å in Pd2(SB)2·Me2CO. This Pd–Pd distance is 30% shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii, which is in accordance with a strong palladophilic interaction. Fluorescence studies on H2SB-M2+ interaction showed that H2SB can...

Abstract
The present study deals with the investigation of Cu2+, Ni2+ and Pd2+ chelating potential of the Schiff base, (E)-N-(2-((2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)benzyl)-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide (H2SB). Crystal structures of Ni(HSB)2, Pd(HSB)2 and Cu(HSB)2 have been elucidated from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. NMR spectroscopy showed the presence of two conformers of Pd(HSB)2 in solution, both with an E configuration of the ligand. The determination of binding constants by fluorescence quenching showed that affinity of H2SB to Cu2+ in solution is higher than for Ni2+ and Pd2+. Since there is a high demand for selective, sensitive, rapid and simple methods to detect copper in aqueous samples...

Abstract
An easily synthesized fluorescent probe for detecting copper in aqueous samples, with a short response time and at neutral pH, has been investigated. Through the chelation of Cu2+ ions or by binding to CuO nanoparticles, the fluorescence emission of the 2-(aminomethyl)aniline derivative H2L is quenched by over 50%. Spectroscopic determination of the association constants of H2L with some metal ions showed that the ligand has a higher affinity toward Cu2+ than toward other d-block metal ions. The comparative bonding ability of the aniline-based fluorescent probe in d-block metal complexes was studied in solution by a combination of UV-Vis, 1H NMR and mass spectrometry analyses. Besides these,...

Abstract
To find metal ion recognition by L (L = O2N2-donor naphthodiaza-crown macrocyclic ligand), the complexes [ML]2+ (M = Cd, Hg and Pb) were synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H, 13C NMR, and mass spectrometry, as well as elemental microanalysis. Hg(II) showed perceptible enhancement of the fluorescence of L in which ultra-low limit of detection for Hg(II) by L was determined as 1 nM in ethanol and DMSO. L reserved selectivity of Hg(II) in its binary mixtures with metal cations in solution. A 1 : 1 stoichiometry was found for the interaction of Hg(II) with L while Benesi–Hildebrand method was applied to calculate its complexation binding constant (K BH) employing fluorescence...

Abstract
A series of N2 O2 -donor naphthodiaza-crown macrocyclic ligands, L1 -L5 , were synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry as well as microanalysis. Preliminary observations employing UV-vis spectrophotometry of L3 in ethanol revealed that triethylamine (TEA) has a significant blue-shift effect on the entire of the spectra. Then, the detection of aliphatic and aromatic amines by L3 were followed by monitoring of fluorescence quenching of the resulting adducts in terms of their binding with L1 -L5 . Both steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopic measurements in the...

Abstract
Supramolecular complexation of C60 with L1-L5 were studied in toluene, chloroform and 1,2-dichlorobenzene solvents using UV–vis, fluorescence, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy as well as density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The Job’s plot of continuous variation method established 1:1 stoichiometry for L1-L5/C60. Binding constants (K) calculated for L1-L5/C60 were also determined employing UV–vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Both steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopic surveys showed remarkable fluorescence quenching phenomenon for L1-L5 in the presence of C60 which was primarily attributed to involvement of a static process. The observed fluorescence quenching in L1–L5...

Abstract
The noticeable enhancement in fluorescence emission of O2N2-donor naphthodiaza-crown macrocyclic ligand (L) in the presence of Hg2+ was observed in which the fluorescence quantum yield of free ligand L as well as L/Hg2+ complex were found to be as 0.29 and 0.49, respectively. The observed ultra-low limit of detection (LOD) for Hg2+ by L was determined as low as 1.0 × 10−11 M in water. A 1:1 stoichiometry was also established for L/Hg2+ together with a binding constant KBH = 66,543 by employing fluorescence spectrophotometry. The competition experiments on L/Hg2+ demonstrated highly selective detection of Hg2+ in the presence of the library cations. A two path mechanism for detection of metal...

Analysis of Output Voltage Power Spectrum of High Voltage Power Supply
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kaboli, Shahriyar (Supervisor)
Abstract
Some microwave tubes can function as a narrowband power amplifier and their output power spectrum is an indicator of their amplification and efficiency. One of the factors affecting its power spectrum is the noise and ripple of its HVDC power supply. To reduce the negative effects of power supply, first there should be an exact measurement of ripple and noise in the output of the HVDC power supply. Destructive factors which affect voltage ripple measurement in the case of high DC voltage are follows as conductive interference, radiative interference, intrinsic noise of electrical elements, and nonideal frequency response of voltage divider. After identifying and suppressing the mentioned...

Abstract
In this paper, a new algorithm for solving the shortest loop design problem is presented. The shortest loop design problem is to find the shortest loop for an automated guided vehicle covering at least one edge of each department of a block layout. In this paper, first it is shown that this problem can be represented as a graph model. The properties of the presented model enable us to design a meta-heuristic based on ant colony system algorithm for solving the shortest loop design problem. Computational results show the efficiency of our algorithm in compare to the other techniques

Abstract
We characterize terahertz wireless channels for extracting data from nanoscale sensors deployed within human lungs. We discover that the inhalation and exhalation of oxygen and carbon dioxide causes periodic variation of the absorption coefficient of the terahertz channel. Channel absorption drops to its minimum near the end of inhalation, providing a window of opportunity to extract data with minimum transmission power. We propose an algorithm for nanosensors to estimate the periodic channel by observing signal-to-noise ratio of the beacons transmitted from the data sink. Using real respiration data from multiple subjects, we demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can estimate the minimum...
