Event-based embedded systems are usually energy-constrained and also have to be highly reliable. This thesis presents a novel energy-efficient standby-sparing technique for eventbased embedded systems. It speculatively pre-executes reaction tasks prior to events, resulting in a high available slack time for energy management. Although the prediction might be wrong, we will show that in average the proposed speculative standby-sparing technique (SSS) consumes less energy compared to non-speculative techniques. Abstract
We study a speci?c class of black holes which are called extremal. By de?ning extremality asdouble-horizon condition and imposing ?niteness assumption, we show that the dynamics of ?eldsat the horizon decouples from the rest of space. This decoupling occurs by vanishing all radialderivatives. We show this decoupling for the extremal black holes in the theories of gravity correctedby f(R)terms.We also show that these two above conditions leads to AdS × S1 near horizon geometry2of rotating black holes. Energy reduction in embedded processors is a must since most embedded systems run on batteries and processor energy reduction helps increase usage time before needing a recharge. Register files are among the most power consuming parts of a processor core. Register file power consumption mainly depends on its size (height as well as width), especially in newer technologies where leakage power is increasing. Abstract
This paper discusses the design of a high frequency wide bandwidth ultrasound transducer with the center frequency of 50 MHz and an aperture diameter of 3 mm for medical ultrasonic imaging. The piezoelectric material used in this design is Lithium Niobate. The design is verified by both KLM equivalent circuit and spatial impulse response method as used in FIELD II software and the theoretical imaging resolution has been calculated as 50 um axially and 80 um laterally. Abstract
The photocatalytic decolorization of aqueous solutions of Direct Red 27 in the presence of various amounts of semiconductor powder suspensions has been investigated in a batch reactor with the use of artificial light sources. ZnO and TiO2 have been found the most active photocatalysts; the effect of catalyst loading and type on the reaction rate was optimized for maximum degradation. Interleukin-1 Receptor Type II (IL-1RII) is the decoy receptor of IL-1 cytokines. It down-regulates the immune signalling pathways. There is a competitive behaviour between the IL-1RII and IL-1RI, which is the signalling receptor of the IL-1Rs family. Abstract
Electrochemical activity of TiO2 nanotube arrays (NTAs) is restricted by a wide band gap of TiO2. To overcome this restriction, we considered systematic research on two effective methods of doping of TiO2 NTAs such as the N-doping and electrochemical reductive doping and predicting the proper application of them. Band gap narrowing was occurred from 3.16 eV for undoped TiO2 NTAs to 2.9 and 2.7 eV at N-doped and self-doped TiO2 ones respectively. Although morphological disorder of nanotube structure is further down than the nanoparticular electrode, its density of traps are the hindering effects in the charge transport. In this study, crack-free TiO2 nanotube membranes, which obtained through a re-anodizing process, are fixed on transparent fluorine–tin-oxide glass by applying a few drops of Titanium Isopropoxide without needing the TiO2 powder paste. The aim of this study is to employ feedback control loops to provide a stable forward dynamics simulation of human movement under repeated position constraint conditions in the environment, particularly during stair climbing.
