Experimental Investigation of Brine Salinity Effect on Relative Permeability Curve in Tight Reservoir

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zeinolabedin, Roham (Author) ; Shad, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
An experimental study was conducted to investigate the reduction of relative permeability caused by salt precipitation. Series of isothermal sand pack flood experiments were conducted on a sand pack composed of several minerals and relative permeability of the involved phases were determined. This compose was taken south of Iranian reservoir properties. A stainless steel sand-pack of 2.5cm internal diameter and 19.2 cm long was designed and built for experimental procedure. There are is different methods to determine relative permeability of porous media, According to available facilities in the lab and objective of this study unsteady state have been chosen to determine relative...

Learning improvement by using matlab simulator in advanced electrical machine laboratory

    , Article RPC 2010 - 1st Russia and Pacific Conference on Computer Technology and Applications, 6 September 2010 through 9 September 2010 ; 2010 , Pages 107-116 Zeinolabedin Moussavi, A. S ; Fazly, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This paper presents how can teach complicated problems in electrical engineering subjects (electrical machines) by using simulators such as MATLAB/SIMULINK. Simulation of direct vector control of induction machine (IM) drive on the rotor flux direction with composite model flux observer can improve electrical machine teaching-learning procedure for graduated and under graduated levels. In the indirect vector control of IM, current reference values are used for estimation angle of the rotor flux space vector (ARFSV), however using current reference values instead of current real values can decrease accuracy of ARFSV. In the direct vector control, current real values (current feedback)...

    Abstract
In this study, the semi-clathrate hydrate dissociation pressure for the CO2+N2, CO2+H2, CO2+CH4, and pure CO2 systems in the presence of different concentrations of TBAB aqueous solutions is predicted using a strong machine learning technique of multi-layer perceptron neural network (MLP-NN). The developed model, with an overall correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9961 and mean square error (MSE) of 5.96E−02, presented an excellent accuracy in prognosticating experimental data. A complete statistical evaluation performed to promise the strength and generality of the multi-layer perceptron artificial neural network (MLP-ANN). In addition, the applicability of the proposed network and quality of...

Investigation the Optimum Condition for Gas Injection into the Oil Reservoirs by Measuring the Interfacial Tension

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Roham, Mohammad (Author) ; Ghotbi, Cyrus (Supervisor) ; Robert, Marc (Supervisor) ; Taghikhani, Vahid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Interfacial Tension (IFT) as a main parameter for gas flooding efficiency in oil reservoirs depends highly on pressure, temperature, and composition of the reservoir fluids. Therefore, it is important to measure this parameter at real reservoir condition for successful field development plan. In this study, an axisymmetric drop shape analysis (ADSA) has been utilized to measure the equilibrium IFTs in crude oil-flue gas systems at different temperatures and pressures. Moreover, minimum miscibility pressures (MMP) of crude oil/flue gas and crude oil/N2 systems at different temperature levels are determined by applying vanishing interfacial tension (VIT) technique. Then, the effect of oil...
