    Abstract
In pervasive computing environments, a user can access resources and services from any where and at any time; thus a key security challenge in these environments is the design of an effective access control model which is aware of context modifications. Changes in context may trigger changes in authorizations. In this paper, we propose a new context-aware access control model based on role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments. We assign roles to users dynamically based on the long-term context information and tune active role's permissions according to the short-term context information of the users and environment. © 2007 IEEE

    2008
    Abstract
Mechanical properties and fracture toughness micromechanisms of copolypropylene filled with different amount of nanometric CaCO3 (5-15 wt %) were studied, J-integral fracture toughness was incorporated to measure the effect of incorporation of nanoparticle into PP matrix. Crack-tip damage zones and fracture surfaces were studied to investigate the effect of nanofiller content on fracture toughness micromechanisms. It was found that nanofiller acted as a nucleating agent and decreased the spherulite size of polypropylene significantly, J-integral fracture toughness (Jc) of nanocomposites was improved dramatically. The Jc value increased up to approximately two times that of pure PP at 5 wt %...

    Abstract
Aged asphalt binder in reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) or recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) blends only partially with the virgin binder. To better understand this state of blending, the asphalt mixtures in this study were designed, mixed, and compacted using different RAP and RAS contents. The asphalt binders were extracted and recovered from RAP and RAS and then blended with different proportions of a virgin binder. The master curves for the asphalt mixtures and asphalt binder blends were then constructed from the measured data. A locally calibrated Hirsch model was developed to estimate master curves for the asphalt mixtures from the corresponding binder-blend data. Pairwise comparison of...

    , Article Annals of Nuclear Energy ; Volume 43 , May , 2012 , Pages 13-18 ; 03064549 (ISSN) Rashidi, A ; Safdari, J ; Roosta Azad, R ; Zokaei Kadijani, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
In this paper, a mathematical model for the mesophilic bioleaching of uraninite is developed. The case of constant temperature, pH, and initial ore concentration is considered. The model is validated by comparing the calculated and measured values of uranium extraction, ferric and ferrous iron in solution, and cell concentration. Good fits of the model were obtained, while the values of the parameters were within the range expected. New rate expressions were used for the iron precipitation and uranium leaching rates. The rates of chemical leaching and ferric precipitation are related to the ratio of ferric to ferrous in solution. The fitted parameters can be considered applicable only to...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zokaei Nikoo, Maryam (Author) ; Salmasi, Naser (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This study addresses the simultaneous berth and quay crane (QC) scheduling problem in a container terminal. The berths are considered as a continuous area and the vessels arrive dynamically. QCs are allowed to move to other vessels before completing the process on an assigned vessel. The objective function is determined based on the practical applications of the problem. It deals with minimization of sum of the completion time of vessels. In this research, a mathematical model has been developed for the research problem. According to NP-hardness of the research problem, two meta heuristic algorithms based on Tabu Search are proposed. To solve the problem, these methods have two layers with...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zangui, Mahmood (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The toll pricing problem has been investigated in the literature for the cases of link, cordon, and facility (bridge, tunnel and etc.) pricing. Taking advantages of new technologies, nowadays it is possible to track the path of individual vehicles and collect the tolls by means of electronic devices. In this regard, we concerned the problem of path pricing. In this thesis, a variety of models for path pricing is proposed, the models are solved for the Hearn network and the results are compared to the results of link pricing models. In addition to the models, one exact solution method and two heuristic methods are proposed for the model of path pricing with the minimum total toll....

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shirmohammadi, Nima (Author) ; Zokaei Ashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Signal coordination is one of the strategies to decrease the delay times in transportation networks. The application of dynamic traffic assignment has been made possible the modeling of flow loading in network links, and queue formation and dissipation in signalized intersections. In this thesis, signal offset set which produce the minimum total travel time in a network is determined, using a cell-based dynamic traffic assignment which is based on the cell transmission model. Genetic algorithm has been implemented to reach the suboptimal offset set. The application of the algorithm on a small test network shows that it can reach to an offset set with 1% error to the optimal offset set, by...

Solving Electric Vehicle Traffic Assignment Problem Considering Time-Dependent Energy Consumption

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Niroumand, Ramin (Author) ; Zokaei Ashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Battery Electric vehicles (BEVs) are turning into a more well known type of transportation because of their energy effectiveness, further sustainability, and the arrangement of government support through motivation programs. However, BEVs have a constrained driving range due to their limited battery capacity. This limited battery capacity leads to a fear of exhausting energy in the middle of route which is referred to as range anxiety. The range anxiety affects BEV users’ travel choices such as route choice. Hence, BEV users should consider their vehicles’ remaining range while trying to minimize their travel times. This concern consequently changes the equilibrium flow on the transportation...

    Simulating Detectors Using Bohmian Mechanics

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zokaei, Mohammad Hossein (Author) ; Golshani, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Bohmian mechanics (or de Broglie–Bohm theory) is a causal version of the quan-tum mechanics which its main idea was expressed for the first time by Louis de Broglie in 1927, and then rediscovered by David Bohm in 1952 with a different approach. In this theory, the state of a system of particles, is described by the position of the particles, and a wavefunction evolving according to the Schrödinger equation. John Bell in 1987, considering the double-slit experiment and emphasizing the importance of the Bohm’s wave-particle theory said: ”Is it not clear from the smallness of the scintillation on the screen that we have to do with a particle? And is it not clear, from the diffraction and...

Comparing Meta-Heuristic Algorithms for Solving Transportation Network Design Problem

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Farivar, Saeedeh (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Discrete network design problem is selecting a set of feasible projects among a set of candidate projects, considering a budget constraint in which user's cost is being minimized. Network design problem is one of the complicated problems in transportation science, since it is a bi-level problem in which the lower level is a traffic assignment problem and the upper level is finding the best set of arcs. Meta-heuristic algorithms can be used to solve this problem. Although, there is no guarantee to find the optimal solution by Meta-heuristic algorithms, but they find good solutions in short times. The purpose of this study is comparing the efficiency of three Meta-heuristic algorithms for...

Solving Traffic Assignment Problem with Side Constraints

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Moshtagh, Vahid (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, traffic assignment problem with side constraints has been considered because of the importance of transportation supply management. Side constraints which are appeared due to imposing the traffic control policies are usually represented in form of link, node or district capacity constraints. Although link capacity constraint has been extensively studied, only a few papers on the other types of constraints such as capacity constraint on inflow to a district of city exist in the literature. In this research a method based on dynamic penalty function (DPF) is presented to solve traffic assignment problem with side constraints. Solution algorithm has been coded in a programming...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mollanejad, Mostafa (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Improving synchronization in a bus network has a profound effect on reducung waiting times and increasing satisfaction of system’s users. By doing so, the scheduler create a more attractive transit system that generates the opportunity for increasing the number of riders. In this research, the problem of creating timetables with maximum synchronization is modeled as a mixed integer programing (MIP) problem. The objective of this model is to minimize the total waiting times of passengers at transfer nodes. For this purpose, the model take advantage of uneven headways. Some of features that distinguish this research are more realistic objective function, and considering adjacent departures...

Simultaneous Traffic Assignment Model for Autonomous Vehicles and Regular Vehicles with Different Route Choice Criteria in Transportation Network

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mousavi, Roozbeh (Author) ; Zokaei Ashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
With the arrival of autonomous vehicles in the fleet of the transportation network and the change of some travel parameters such as travel time, mode choice models, as well as route choice models, will also change. These types of vehicles will be able to move less distance from the front vehicle compared to regular vehicles. Also, due to the exchange of information between the vehicle and the infrastructure, we will see an increase in the capacity of the transportation network and its safety. The period of complete transition from regular vehicles to self-driving vehicles will be relatively important and therefore it is necessary to see these two phenomena together. It is assumed that...

Wardrop's first principle: Extension for capacitated networks

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 28, Issue 1 , 2021 , Pages 175-191 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Zokaei Aashtiani, H ; Poorzahedy, H ; Nourinejad, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In transportation literature, User Equilibrium (UE) has been widely studied since early 1950's, many studies of which define equilibrium flow of traffic for uncapacitated networks based on Wardrop's first principle, implying also a Nash Equilibrium (NE). Although, in general, the two equilibria (UE and NE) are not explicitly the same, they are shown to be equivalent under special conditions for uncapacitated UE, when volume delay functions are separable, continuous, non-decreasing and non-negative. A good deal of research is devoted to explain UE in capacitated networks based on Wardrop's first principle and the concept of generalized costs. However, UE for capacitated networks, even under...

Study of scratch resistance in homo- and co-polypropylene filled with nanometric calcium carbonate

    , Article Materials Science and Engineering A ; Volume 445-446 , 2007 , Pages 526-536 ; 09215093 (ISSN) Zokaei, S ; Lesan Khosh M., R ; Bagheri, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2007
    Abstract
In this study, homo- and co-polypropylene were modified by nanometric calcium carbonate and the effect of additive on scratch resistance was evaluated. Results of this study show that the length of scratch curvature can be considered as an acceptable criterion to evaluate the scratch resistance of polymers. Also, it was found that addition of calcium carbonate to homo-polypropylene increases scratch resistance of this polymer, but its effect on co-polypropylene is insignificant. Based on the results of this work, one may claim that incorporation of nanometric particles with good adhesion to the matrix and well dispersion might be effective in enhancement of scratch resistance. Formation of...

Locating Gas Stations in Urban Areas

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zokaie Kheiraie, Ali (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Control and managing of fuel consumption is one of the most important issues facing man kind today. Locating gas stations has a great effect on fuel consumption. The gas station locating problem consists of selecting the optimal choice between the candidate nodes for constructing gas stations in such a way that minimizes the excess travel time that results from the gas station not being located on daily travel paths. The gas station locating model is presented for two conditions of either considering and not considering the gas station capacity. In the case of not considering the gas station capacity, a compact model is presented, too. Softwares for medium sized networks and the Simulated...

Usage-based Nonlinear Pricing on Traffic Zones

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mousavi Chashmi, Kianoush (Author) ; Zokaei Ashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, the necessity of management tools for controlling the ever increasing congestions in transportation networks has been increased. Pricing is one of these tools for mitigating congestions in transportation networks. In this regard, different pricing models have been developed for transportation networks. By considering the advancement in technologies and possibility of recording the vehicles’ traveled distance in the tolling areas, the amount of toll each user pays could be a nonlinear function of the distance traveled inside tolling areas. As a result, the generalized travel cost of each path may not be link-wise additive; therefore, the resulting shortest path problem cannot be...
